June’s husband was quickly removed from the scene. “Please,” the Angel begged, “Holding the child's soul here is unmercifully cruel. You need to think about your child?” When she said the words, the little girl was still desperately trying to grab onto her mother's coat top, crying profusely.

And then she found herself saying words she would have never believed in a million years would have been hers, only hours before, “Please take me, as I can’t let my daughter go like this?  And I need also to comfort my son –after the horrific ordeal he has been through.”  Looking at the young woman with a want in all her heart, “She said again.  Please, please, you must do as I ask, for my children’s sake.  The fact I self-awoke is the very proof I’m making the right choice.”

She saw her husband sitting there, lost to all that was happening. She guessed hoping that either she or his daughter would come out of their coma. Unaware his daughter had already lost her fight for life.  And now his wife was fighting for the same. It just didn't make any sense?  Kevin, she, and their two children, were supposed to leave for Canada in a fortnight, to spend a month with his parents in Kingston, Ontario. And the kids had been so looking forward to that.  No doubt, been fussed over, and spoilt by their grandparents. How could all that be gone now?  Was life that heartless –to steal what she and Kevin had worked so dearly to build?

Then after a moment, she saw the Angel nod, and smile, “Very well then, as it is most unusual circumstances, I have received permission from God to honour your request.”

June couldn’t believe what she was hearing.  She could only just about voice in reply, “Thank you.”  With a strong look of gratitude on her face.

Then with that, all three walked towards a lit portal like a bright circle, right next to the window, where outside, it was now getting dark on the streets of Dublin.

Just then June’s ECG (electrocardiogram) went into a flat-liner. And staff ran to her bed.  And as the light consumed her with her daughter, she deeply, with all her heart, asked her husband to forgive her choice.  Somehow, she truly felt, if her husband was in her place, he too would have made the same decision.  After all, a Mum and a Dad’s place were to Care and love their children.
