Kirk walks in to Hanger Bay 1 to find the doors already welcoming the new arrival. The indoor tractor beam emitter activates and brings the pod to rest on the hanger bay floor. Kirk cannot not show his excitement and is grinning from ear to ear.

"I do not understand your excitement Captain. This is just standard procedure for any unknown object we come across that is perceived to be of no direct danger of the crew." Spock looks at Kirks smitten face with a cynical view.

"We have been looking at hot dust clouds for months, Spock. This gives us a break from the monotonous boredom of dust to something that is actually interesting." Kirk grabs Spock's arms in excitement making him look like a trapped fish. Kirk then quickly releases his grip as he remembers who he was talking to.

"I find nebulae fascinating." Kirk groans as his entire outburst of emotion has fallen onto deaf ears, again. But he hoped that one day the Vulcan might actually understand what it means to be half human. But before the conversation became anymore awkward Scotty waves them over.

"What is it?" Kirk asks begging for some answers that may explain the origin of the pod. He looks at the chunk of metal and his hopes start to drain away.

"From what I can piece together, it was an escape pod but not from any ship I've ever seen." Kirk starts to investigate the structure of the pod, looking at it from end to end.

"It is severely damaged; we may not be able to get any information about the origin of this pod." Spock and Scotty start to converse behind Kirk. He sees something that catches his eye, a section of the pod that is transparent like a window. He begins to look at it more closely revealing that there was something inside. He tries to rub away some of the dirt on the surface with his sleeve, to try and get a better look. The discovery of lays inside completely shocks Kirk. He tries to rub more dirt away to solidify his conclusion. He was hoping that he was maybe mistaken but no it was real. Very real.

"Guys, there's someone still in there." Spock and Scotty abruptly end their conversation and come over to check if Kirk was correct. There staring back at them was a cold ghostly face. Staring back at them were eyes that were devoid of any life and black and clouded over like that of a doll's. There was no colour in her cheeks or lips as if the blood was drained from within her.

"Call for doctor McCoy and a Medial team right away." Spock says to a confused officer. He quickly runs to the nearest comm panel and asks for the doctor. "It was very unlikely for the body to preserved in this manner due to the apparent damage to the capsule itself."

Scotty squeezes himself through between the pair to scan the wreckage. "Oh my god." The Doctor makes his entrance into the hanger with his medical kit and frantic nurses in tow.

"You better have a good reason for bringing me all the way down here Jim." He opens his kit and starts to scan the body with a medical tricorder. "Shit."

"What is the prognosis Doctor?" McCoy doesn't answer Spock and carries on scanning. His face on the other hand started to contort into a look of surprise and dread. He scans again just to be sure, to maybe disprove what he just deduced.

"Get it to the med bay now!"

Kirk walks into the med bay to find it surprisingly quiet except for the occasional beep of the medical instruments. There are screens surrounding the body now obviously a human female about five-foot ten; dressed in some sort of black clothing, possibly a uniform. There were faded marks on her shoulder and neck including a charred insignia on her chest. She was definitely part of an organisation. However, all this did give any indication of her origin.
