Chapter Two- Death and Stuff...

I look at the two dead corpses. I didn't even know that I had the capacity to kill, but I guess everyone does if put under the right circumstances. One has there skull bashed in, and the other was decapitated. Don't ask me how it happened, because I have no idea, but it did. The male student's head is on the floor about two feet away from his body. The head is still... Moving... It's jaws still open and close trying to get it's next meal which makes it creepy to look at.

All of my classmates, aside from Sabrina, because she is staring out the set of windows that lead to the hallway, stare at me like I had just commited some major crime, although I couldn't have. This was out of self defense, and these things obviously aren't human. Look at the head for crying out loud! It's eyeing me now, still opening and closing it's jaw. I could just imagine it calling me some not very nice names for severing it's head from it's body.

Then it hits me.

Two students died today.

Jesus! Ten minutes ago I was sleeping and now two students are dead. What's next?

They had familys and siblings, like me, and I killed them. Mr. White walks up to me and pats my shoulder. "Don't get yourself down, Luckary. These guys were dead before you did what you did," he said like he was reading my mind.

"What are they?" A student blurts out.

I think for a moment. I've seen enough movies to have a guess as to what's going on. "They're like zombies," I say.

Brendon stands up. "Like zombies? They are zombies!" In my heart I know that he's right, but I don't want to accept it. I turn to Sabrina, whose still sitting at the lab table, but is no longer focused on her work. Instead she stares intently out the large windows.

"You okay?" But I'm ignored.

"Yea. I'm just waiting," she replies.

"For..." My sentence is cut off.

BEEEEEEEEEEEP

A voice plays over the loud speaker. I recognize it as our principal.

"Attention students. We are now in a hard lock-down situation. This is not a drill. All students are to stay in your classroom for their own safety. People have entered the building, and they are presumed to be very sick physically and mentally. They are attacking anyone and everyone. To prove how dangerous this is we have a report that one student has already died. I repeat, stay in your classrooms. Teachers, lock the door and no matter what do not open it. The police are on their way. I promise that if you follow my orders you will be..."

All of the sudden there is a scream over the loud speaker. The principal says no more.

Now a lot of the students begin to panic.

More frantic knocking starts up. "Let us in!" I hear come from behind the door. Mr. White rushes over to the door and lets them in, and makes sure the door is locked tight when they're all the way in. The boy and the girl look pale, like they'd just seen a ghost. "Oh my god. They're out there. A whole swarm of them!" the girl says frantically. Then she sees the two dead bodies on the ground and faints. I'm close enough to her that I'm able to catch her before she hits the floor. I turn to the boy while still holding the girl's weight.

"Did they see you?" I ask. He nods. "Oh no. We could be in trouble," I whisper to Mr. White.

"You think?" he whispers back then raising his voice so everyone can hear, "Okay everyone in to the storage closet. Hopefully, if they're smart, the other class is already in there." The storage closet connects us to the adjacent classroom, so the other class should be hiding in there as well. Hopefully.
