2 Hours Later

The driver dropped Aubrey off along with his luggage outside a small recording studio opposite a nightclub. Before he left Houston, his friend Noel had made arrangements for him to stay at this studio during his trip. Aubrey wasn't comfortable about staying in a hotel, regardless of it's 4 or 5 star status.

I guess this is it, he thought to himself as fished out his Blackberry from his pocket where he saved the code that would gain him access into the studio. Once he entered the code, he walked through the main area where he was met by a note placed on a small notice board.

Hello, Drake!

You'll find your room upstairs at the very end of the corridor next to the main studio. I'm sure you'll be happy to know that you have the building all to yourself. Great to have you here!

Noel's friend, Trev.

Aubrey grabbed his luggage, making his way up the stairs towards the room. As he entered, he quickly dropped his stuff by bed and took his messenger bag which contained his Blackberry and MacBook. Placing the strap over his right shoulder, he decided to finish up some tracks for his debut album Thank Me Later.

He adapted to the unfamiliar studio environment in no time as he sent the final recorded verses to his friends 40 and Noel for them to look over and tweak

Aubrey contemplated whether or not he should re-doing the some vocals on one song produced by Kanye West. After a moment of zoning out, he set up the mic and went on to record a better version of the chorus and second verse whilst reciting the lyrics from his Blackberry.

I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I bet if I give all my love then nothing's gonna tear us apart

I'm more than just a number
I doubt you'll find another
So every single summer
I'll be the one that you'll remember

Satisfied with the vocals, he sent an email to 40 and Noel, requesting that they replace the old versions of the chorus and second verse.

Looking around the studio his eyes lit up when he stumbled upon a small stash of rolled up blunts. He took one placing it between his lips, lighting it and released a long awaited sigh. As the feeling of disorientation slowly travelled through his brain, his session was interrupted by series of vibrations and heavy bass sounds.

"Damn, I forgot this studio is next to a fucking club." He laughed to himself as he stood up sluggishly walking out of the studio and down the stairs, heading in the direction of the repetitive beat.
