Chapter 26

The Truth, Part 2.

When did I ever think that life can be this perfect?

I was wrong, so wrong.

I pump faster and run quicker but can still hear Alex's yelling behind me.

No, I can't take this anymore. I wish I could run away. Go to wonderland and meet the Mad-Hatter.

That would be the day.

Alex starts to catch up to me.

Since when was he running behind me? I thought it was my imagination... or even a dream repeating.

Nope. This is real. I am actually running away from the Pain, but the pain chased me.

I stop and I can feel Alex's breath behind me.

"Go. Away." I say slowly. I don't even turn around to look at him. Just my back to him. He doesn't deserve to see my face.

"I can't. I need to explain to you what happened there." Alex says.

I whip around and look at Alex, feeling tears start to form in my eyes.

"What I saw, explains it all already." I say.

"Bu-" Alex says before I budge in.

"No. Right now I don't want to be by you. Maybe later you can explain, but right now I can't. You broke my heart. Maybe if you can prove you still love me Ill be back, but for now, I'm going home." I say.

I turn around and run.

I just want to be home, alone singing and crying my heart out.

*10min later*

"I- AM- SO- TIRED." I say between breaths.

I was on my knees breathing in and out like a maniac.

I finally take a quick breath and walk home.

The cool air of fall dancing on my skin, hearing the crunch of the leaves under my feet instantly made me feel better.

I only had a few blocks to get to my house.

I think of the past, when me, Maggie, Eric, and yes, Alex rode home from McDonald's.

*Flashback*

"Slow down!" Maggie yells.

We were on the free way. With me driving... ya. It is that bad.

"I know, I know." I say.

"STOP THE CAR WOMEN!" Maggie yells.

I stop the car to give Maggie a dirty look.

"Really?" I say.

"Really." Maggie says.

I look around and see Eric and Alex's face they were terrified.

Oh Great.

I will never be allowed to drive again.

*End of Flashback.*

I giggle at the memory.

I wish it was like that right now.

I skip around the sidewalk until I see Maggie running up to me.

Oh great.
