imagine: waylon asking you why you aren't afraid of him after you two form a friendship.

you sat down in an empty seat in the cafeteria, which happened to be between deadshot and croc. the prison you were being held in for killing people allowed the prisoners to eat in the cafeteria once a month, depending on behaviour. you managed to befriend everyone at the prison, but you were especially close to the scary killer croc that all the guards seemed to fear the most. at times you didn't blame them, he did eat some of them. but, they did kinda deserve it, they treated him like a monster which he wasn't. he was one of the sweetest people once you got to know him properly.

you chomped on your sandwich, which was bland, but you'd rather eat it than starve, whilst all your friends engaged in different conversations. you turned towards waylon, a smile on your lips as you swallowed the last of the sandwich.

"how are you today waylon? you feeling good?" you asked, trying to start a conversation.

he nodded his head in response, "it's been decent. still wish people would stop treating me like i was some kind of disease though. you know y/n, you're the first person ever that hasn't walked or ran away from me in fear when they first met me" he admitted, leaving you surprised.

"actually i've been wondering this for awhile now.. why aren't you scared of me? everyone else seems to be though some hide it better than others" he said, his full attention now on you.

you shrugged your shoulders, facing the croc, "because when i met you i realised that when people ran away from you in fear it actually hurt you because all you wanted was a friend but nobody would give you that chance! so i decided that i was going to give you the chance and i don't regret it one bit. you are one of my closest friends in this place and not having you would be weird"

he smiled at you, before pulling you into a tight hug.

"thank you y/n"

this is small & rushed so i'm sorry but i also wanted to say thank you for 3k views and i know that isn't a lot to some people but i made this story like three days ago and i'm really happy with all the votes & comments i'm getting so far!!
