part two to the previous imagine!

there was a loud knock on the door causing everyone's head to snap towards it. your dad stood up, a smile on his face which you knew was a bad thing. you rushed forward, making your way to the door first and swinging it open to see floyd in some fancy clothes. you smiled at him as he smiled at you before he began talking.

"hey y/n, not to be rude or anything but we have to be at the restaurant in five" he told you, checking the time on his watch.

"yeah about that, i can't go" you told him, which received a confused look from him. "my mom and dad kinda found that we're dating and they want you to have dinner" you rushed out, shaking your head slightly.

he looked shocked, ready to speak until the door was pulled open further revealing your dad with anger basically pouring from him.

"what? you don't wanna have dinner? i knew it, you're no good for my daughter" your dad spat.

"dad!" you gasped, facing him with a shocked expression but he didn't seem to care.

"actually, i would love to have dinner.. what's cookin?" he asked, a little smirk lying on his face.

"great! you see puddin' i told you he was nice!" your mom joined in, clinging onto your dads arm.

you dad shot her a quick glare, letting her know he wasn't in the mood so she quickly let go and stepped back for floyd to make his way in. he walked in, giving you a quick peck on the cheek knowing that he couldn't do anything more due to your dad being stood centimetres away. you smiled at him, before taking his hand and leading him to the dining room. your parents followed behind and you all sat down at the table.

you dad wouldn't let you sit next to floyd of course, so instead you sat next to him and across from floyd whilst your mom sat next to floyd. you could sense the awkwardness as you all ate your food, the only thing that could be heard was the clanging of your knifes and forks.

"so.. how did you two meet?" your mom suddenly asked, she actually seemed interested.

"at the park around the corner, we bumped into eachother" you replied, smiling at the memory.

"yeah, i was on my way to buy some food and saw her, i had to stop and talk to her she seemed different" he confessed, making you blush.

"different? we're all different" your dad scoffed, rolling his eyes as he drank some of his drink.

you ignored your dad's comment and turned back to your mom and boyfriend a smile on your face.

"and how long have you been dating?" your mom asked.

"two months next week actually" floyd answered, nodding his head at you.

"how did you manage to keep it from us that long?" your mom gasped, giving you a confused look.

"yeah y/n, we'd both be delighted to know" your dad piped in.

and that's how the rest of the dinner went. your mom asked questions to you and floyd, not just about the relationship she asked floyd different things wanting to know how her old pal has been. meanwhile, your dad gave short and snide remarks whenever he could annoying you and no doubt floyd but you just let him get on with it. at the end, you walked floyd to the door a sorry smile on your face.

"i'm sorry about my dad, he's annoyingly protective" you told him, making him chuckle.

"hey it's cool, i get it, you're his daughter and he doesn't want you to get hurt. but he doesn't have to worry about that with me because i would never hurt you intentionally" he told you, leaning in to give you a kiss which you accepted.

the kiss was gentle and soft, just the way you liked it. the two of you quickly pulled away as you heard a cough, which was your dad alerting you of his presence.

"well well well, what do we have here? not in my house deadshot" he growled, making floyd give him a quick apology.

"i guess i'll see you later" floyd said to you, a small smile on his face.

"yeah, bye.. i'll text you"

he gave you a small wave, and blew you a kiss making you laugh before you shut the door. you turned around and faced your dad who didn't seem as annoyed as you had expected him to be.

"he wasn't too bad, he had manners and you can tell he cares for you" he said, "still don't like him though" he quickly added, cracking his fingers making your cringe.

"aww c'mon puddin, give him a chance" your mom pleaded, smiling at the green haired man.

"i'll think about it" he mumbled, before walking off to god knows where.

you smiled at your mom as she gave you a thumbs up with a wink before following your dad. looks like they approved.
