Descendants Get Frozen Over

VK Family Day

All of the VKs were sitting in the Remedial Goodness Class when Ben and Fairy Godmother walked in.

"OK, class as you know this sunday is Family day, and last year we established a video link to the Isle to talk to the parents." Fairy Godmother said.

"This year we have something else planned, so if you could all please follow me." Ben finished, as he passed Mal she gave him a puzzled look, he just smiles and continues walking past them. CJ, Freddy, Gerta, Hannah, Evie, Carlos, Jay and Mal grab their stuff and follow him.

He leads them to the stairs to the basement and opens the door. He flicks on the light, and it flickers as he makes his way down the stairs.

"OK, and I thought the Isle had some creepy places, I feel at home." Freddy said. When they get down they stop as in the middle of the room is a giant doorframe. Ben turns around.

"OK, all you kneed to do is walk in and you'll see your surprise. It took a LOT to convince my parents and Fairy Godmother to do this." He says. Greta takes a step and reaches into the doorframe, halfway through her hand vanished. She steps through and is gone. Everyone looks at Ben.

"Its alright. Go ahead."

Everyone else walks through the doorway. Mal looks at Ben.

"Our parents are in there, aren't they."

"Ya, don't worry the same magic that the barrier has, is in that room."

"So no one can use magic?"

"Well no one who didn't walk through that door."

"So I can use magic. Just not my mother? Is she still a lizard?"

"Yes, and no. We managed to reverse the spell"

"Great, OK, here goes nothing." Mal looks at the doorway and slowly steps in, as she crossed the threshold it felt as if she walked through a thin cold waterfall. On the other side she saw all the VK's talking to their parents. Evie with Evil Queen (talking about make up and clothes), Jay with Jafar(He was trying to Explain Tourney), Carlos with Cruella(she seemed ecstatic about his coat having a fur lineing), Greta with Mother Gothel (who was inspecting her face for any sign of ageing), CJ was talking to Hook about pranking Peter Pan, and Freddy was telling her father about the Voodoo exhibit at the Museum, Hannah was telling Hans about Eli and both of them didn't look happy about it. Mal looked around looking for her mother.

"MAL!" Maleficent yelled Pushing her way through the crowd.

"Hi mom" she said nervously.

Just as Maleficent got about a foot away she hit a invisible wall. Fairy Godmother walked in with Ben.

"We couldn't take any chances, we placed a protection spell on any of the VK's walking in, so if any Villains planned to hurt someone they wouldn't be able to get close enough." Fairy Godmother explained. Mal turned to look at her mom.

"I didn't have to come in here Mother, and trust me. I didn't want to."

"Then why did you?" Maleficent asked

"Because the one thing I learned here in Auradon, is that everyone deserves a second chance. You just blew yours." Mal said tears forming in her eyes, she turned and walked out of the room leaving everyone silent.

Ben found Mal at the Enchanted Lake with her feet in the water. The entire pavilion was littered with strawberry tops.

"Hey, do I even want to ask?" He said stepping around them. Mal looks back at the mess.

"I guess I should apologize to the kitchen staff."

"They heard what happed so they might not blame you. Did you walk here?"

"No I ran the first mile, but I had 10 pounds of strawberries in a bag."

Ben looks over at her in shock.

"You ate 10 pounds of strawberries?"

Mal shrugs and looks back to the lake.

"So, how do you feel about birthday parties?" Ben asked

"What?"

"Well we've known each other for about a year now, and you still haven't told me yours."

A wave of sadness washes over her face.

"I don't know when mine is. I've only guessed my age because Evil Queen said I was the same age as Evie, but she didn't know."

"So you've never celebrated your birthday?"

"Nope, why did you bring it up?"

"Because before I decided to check here Queen Elsa called, she wanted to come down and surprise Eli for his birthday tomorrow."

"Ah, sounds fun."

"You know what, I believe my parents have all the records of everyone born on the Isle."

"So?"

"Your birthday will be on that file."

"Oh, OK let's go!"

Mal jumps up and both her and Ben race back to his scooter.

"Mal...Mal? What's your last name?"

"I don't have one. At least not that I know of."

"Oh, oh! I found it!" Ben pulls out a folder with Mals name on it. The first page he pulls out is a birth certificate.

"Wow this is funny, your birthday falls on our anniversary."

"What?! Let me see." She snatches the page out of his hands.

"OK this makes some sense."

"What does."

"My mother was always a bit nicer on that day, every single year. She always gave me weird trash too."
