As I gave out the last poster, I rushed back inside Andonio's untying my black apron. Bryan smiles at me, putting some money into the cash register, "Finally finished?" Bryan asked. You may remember Bryan as the gorgeous gay guy who gave me this job. "Yes, oh my god, finally." I laugh, hanging the apron on the rack we had designated for them. Bryan laughed, turning to face me, "Are you still doing that fair thing?" I went behind the counter, grabbing my schoolbag and trying to untangle the strap from my hair, "You mean the fundraising carnival?" I laugh, walking up to him and standing beside him. "Yeah...that." Bryan rolls his eyes. "Yes, I have to work a booth... Amanda would be pissed at me if I didn't." I state, she told me if I didn't work it she would slice my arms off. "Well, it sucks. You'd have ten times more fun with me." Bryan invited me out with his friends tonight, but of course it had to be the day of the fundraiser. "I'll see you tomorrow, Bry." I laughed, heading back outside... It was chillier than a usual Friday afternoon is in California but hopefully the wind would lighten up and it would be it's usual perfect weather. Niall was waiting outside in his truck, like he had everyday this week. Ever since I stood up for myself at Niall's last week we've gotten along swimmingly. We've been talking more, even getting along...and it's kind of amazing. I'm secretly afraid that something is going to ruin it again, but I want to be positive. Once I hop into the car, I greet Niall casually. "Hey Ni." I smiled, my chest heaving up and down with every breath. "Hey." He smiles, it was pretty quiet considering the key wasn't in the ignition. "I have a question." Niall turned to me slightly, his eyes narrowing at me. "Yeah?" I add, pushing my bag into my sides.

"What booth are you running tonight?"

"I dunno yet, Amanda hasn't told me. The planning schedule has been really messed up because this girl named Marie, who usually planned the event, was sick, so Amanda had to do everything last minute."

"Do me a favor..."

"Yeah?"

"Don't let her give you the kissing booth."

"What?" I was literally in shock, Niall hadn't said anything obnoxious since that day, when I told him not to. He had no right to tell me what to do; and nothing that had to with what is basically my romantic life. "I don't think you should be running the kissing booth." He shrugged, obviously upset with my reaction but trying to be casual, so I wouldn't notice. "Niall, we talked about this...you can't tell me what to do." Niall rolled his eyes and started the car. "Yeah, yeah... it's just a bad booth to run... the guys around here are disgusting." He shrugs. All I wanted to do was mention the first night Niall took me out and we went the store and bought new bed sheets because his were 'worn out'. I just ignored his comment though, because things had been going to well to be ruined on something so stupid. I laid my head against the headrest, dazing out the window. I thought it was intriguing how I could see everything outside, but no one could see in. Like a tinted window could have a metaphor. Soon we were outside the parking lot where everything would take place, it was right beside the beach and the sun was on the verge of setting. "Thanks for the ride..." I smiled, I didn't have time to change and I was already late. Niall pulled his cell phone out of his too tight jean pocket and nodded in my direction and took off before I had even shut the door completely. I walked into the parking lot and saw all the girls setting up last minute decorations; I saw Amanda standing in the center of three girls, a clipboard in hand and a ceramic smile covered her face. When I got over to her, the girls had rushed off and the fake smile broke off with worry replacing it. "Where have you been?!" Worry was then replaced with anger. "You were supposed to be here half an hour ago!" she flamed, her foot making contact with the ground over and over again. "I told you I had work, Amanda..." I answered as politely as I could. Amanda didn't treat me like a pledge, or differently because I was a freshman. Even though Amanda was cruel, I felt like deep down inside she might've liked me. I mean, at least a little. "Fine, fine..." she grunted, looking at her clipboard and dragging the pen across the board vigorously. "You get the dunk tank." She pointed with the end of her pen, although her brown eyes never left the page. I turned my head in the general direction to reveal everything already set up. But my head turned quickly as realization flooded through me. "I'm not getting put into the water, am I?" I panicked, I didn't want to get dropped into that tank. "Nah, we'll just get one of the pledges to do it..." she smiled afterwards, she could be a bit evil....but it's her. "Everything is set up for yours because it was the most complicated, we did that first... Help the others until four?" she stated, more than asked and then padded away.
