Classes for the next three days flew by without anything major. I woke up, went to classes, ate lunch at Andonios, went to classes again and went back to the house to study. I couldn’t help but be proud of myself for forming such a productive habit. I had liked most of my classes except for my math course. Niall had done his best to sit closer and closer to me every class. Doing something obnoxious to draw my attention. My seat in the back corner became my permanent seat while Niall’s bounced from the end, then beside the shy boy… the a couple seats away from me. He had tapped pencils and played games with the volume up just loud enough so I could hear. Today was Thursday so I had one more day to get through. I was in my last class of the day that just happened to be my math course. Niall being the dick that he is sat one seat away from me. I tried to pay attention and take notes but the pencil tapping and corny game music was enough to distract me. I could tell he was playing angry birds by the annoying chirping because he continued to lose. There was ten minutes left in class, my clock watching skill constantly being put to use in that class, when Niall leaned over whispering, “I suck at this game.” He didn’t look at me, or try anything funny, that was it. I smiled, even though Niall was a dick most of the time he was very sweet to me in Andonios. We even participated in some small talk before his next class. It was insane how quickly my image of him could transform so I managed to lean over and whisper, “I know, I can hear your birds screaming for mercy.” I smiled, stealing a quick glance to see a small smirk on his face. “Then you try…” he said, getting up from his seat moving right next to mine. The gesture did catch me off guard but I couldn’t help but let out a little giggle as he slid his phone in front of me. He was still in the beginning levels! It was the angry birds starwars version. “Easy…” I scoffed, gliding my finger across the phone smoothly executing a three star win. I looked at him with a small smirk to see his mouth hung open slightly in disbelief. “I loosened it up for you.” He stated and I rolled my eyes, chuckling slightly. “Yeah okay…” I said, picking up my pencil again. “Fine, do this one.” He said, putting the phone in front of me again with the next level. I accepted his challenge trying to win this game. It took me multiple tries to even come close to winning and I was getting sort of frustrated. I huffed as I tried one more time and failed. “Let me see…” Niall said, pulling the phone toward him slightly and completing the level with ease. I looked up to him completely shocked as the bell rang. “Thanks for the help, Roxanne.” He winked, standing up and making a quick exit before I could say a word. I laughed not knowing how else to react. He really was something… I thought to myself as I grabbed my bag and left the now empty classroom.

I walked home after class because it was a nice day. It wasn’t too hot and I was dressed a lot more casual than the first day. I was in a pair of Capri yoga pants and an oversized Stanford sweatshirt. I thought I’d show a bit of school spirit. My hair was curly now. I had straightened it before coming but now it was curly and hung above my shoulders. I would straighten it again tonight. I couldn’t bring myself to do it yesterday because I was completely exhausted. I had decided to go for a run. I hadn’t run in forever. I was on the track team in high school and honestly, I liked it. It could distract me from other things. I had to focus on my breathing and my form. Harry had tried to call again yesterday and he even texted. Begging if he could come down. I couldn’t focus on my work after that so she I to run. And I did. I opened the door to my almost familiar home; it was rarely ever locked. Only at night. Once I was inside I bumped into Amanda. “Oh sorry…” I chuckled, lightly. “It’s fine, I wanted to see you anyway.” She took her pointer finger, gesturing for me to come and spun on her heels quickly. Her curls going into my face. I spit them out when they went into my face. “Okay… what’s up?” I followed slowly. “Firstly, I like your hair like that. You should keep it.” She said, still not looking at me. I rolled my eyes but couldn’t help but stifle another laugh. “Secondly, you were late. And you missed the meeting.” She continued. “What meeting?” I asked, following her into the kitchen. “The meeting I texted you about, duh.” She opened the refrigerator pulling out a diet Pepsi. “Sit down.” She indicated to the seat next to the kitchen aisle. I did as I was told. “We’re doing a fun raiser, the one we do every year. It’s a carnival. We do it with all the Frat’s and Sororities. And since you weren’t here to vote, you got the last choice.” She said, opening the can delicately and taking a sip. “Last choice of what?” I leaned forward. This was a big thing to process. “Last choice of what booth to run.” Oh no. “What is it?” I asked, the worry clear in my voice. “Dunk Tank.” She smiled. “Dunk Tank? I am not going to be the stupid kid in the dunk tank! I refused to be dunked in water for the enjoyment of others!” I stood up. They honestly weren’t going to make me do that are they? Isn’t it usually like a teacher or something? “No…” she laughed. “You’re just going to run the booth, someone else will do that.” She nodded. “We don’t know who though…” she added quickly. “When is it?” I sighed in relief. “Next week. It’s actually not as difficult as it sounds. Everything is basically planned in advance. We just order the food the week before and the boys make everything and stuff. Well, I’m going out with John. Bye.” She stood up giving me a wink and strutting off. I really didn’t mind her attitude. Because she was older than me, and she had something about her that was just so charming and alluring I looked up to her. As long as I wasn’t getting dunked I was completely okay with it. In fact, I was even excited. It was a carnival after all. As I jogged upstairs my phone beeped to which I looked at it and saw a text from… Niall? It read ‘Are you busy?’ I immediately responded with ‘Why?’ what as he trying to say? A few seconds later I got a response, ‘I wanna hang out with you later. At 11.’ At 11? At night? I mean, it is Friday but I have stuff to do tomorrow. Like schoolwork and I have my first day at work tomorrow and I already had to cancel working today because of my schedule. ‘that’s kind of late…’ Besides, I wasn’t ready to get go out anyway. My hair was a mess and I would probably end up dressed inappropriately again. ‘Dress nice Jhe responded with. I knew that Niall was taking me somewhere… probably another race, oh god. He would take me either I was ready or not. Dragging me out in my pajamas. So I guess I should get dressed…
