Amanda's POV

So I finally landed in Michigan a couple hours ago and found my way to a small suburban area with a cozy little apartment to rent. It's 3 stories high, the first floor being a pool, and gym, and the second and third floor are the rooms. I'm currently in my room putting my clothes away and then going to make dinner. I haven't quite decided weather I want to go to the recruiters today or tomorrow. I think I'll wait till tomorrow... Oh hey, I finished putting everything away, ha, I'm pretty good if I can do that without even realizing it. I hurriedly make my way down the hallway and head to the kitchen to prepare dinner. As I'm cooking I hear a knock on the door. Huh, thats odd, I can honestly say that I've never had visitors before. I grab a hand towel from the counter to wipe my hands off as I walk towards the door. Whoever is there keeps knocking the whole way. I finally make it to the door and open it to see to men in black suits and sunglasses standing there with their hands folded neatly behind their backs. "Miss Amanda, I presume?" The man on the right asks. I silently nod my head, and simultaneously open the door wider to alow them to come in. The one who spoke steps in first and takes a glance around before beginning what I consider to be an interrogation. Asking questions about where I came from, how long I plan to stay, what my business is here, ect. most of which get a silent shrug for a response. Finally the men stop with the questions and pull out badges that somewhat explain why they're here. They were private investigators, working for the FBI and wanted to know why that they had no records of my existence. I also learned with time that their names are Mark and Adam. Mark is the quiet, shy one who likes to make observations about their suspects, and is a very down-to-earth kind of guy, while Adam was the more outspoken, loud, funny, cocky, and slightly flirtatious one. Mark has dark brown hair, green eyes, and is about 5'10 and somewhat muscular. Adam is around 6'3, has black hair, brown eyes so dark they look black, and is very muscular. Anyways, back on topic, the were hear about a supposed murderer in the area and when they ran the names of everyone in these parts through their data base they discovered that I apparently didn't exist. It's been nearly 3 hours and they finally came to their senses and realized that I'm not the one their after so Adam gave me his card, along with a smirk and a wink, on their way out and told me to call anytime, and then they left. I slowly make my way back to the living room and flop down onto the couch, feeling exhausted, and switch on the TV, but after about 15 to 20 minutes I fall asleep.

I'm awakened by a loud crash, that sounds like pots and pans being thrown around, coming from the kitchen. I quietly jumped up and pull the pocket knife in my front pocket out and open it as I sneak my way into the kitchen, only to see a tall muscular figure standing at the stove doing something. Something about this person seems oddly familiar, so I close the knife in my hand with a quiet click from the safety lock, startling the figure and causing him to jump around. Seeing it's Adam I sigh, rubbing and hand across my face and sit down at a bar stool. I look up after getting situated, to get a cup of coffee thrust into my hands and give Adam a questioning look as I accept it from him and take a sip. "Good morning sleeping Beauty," Adam says, overly cheerfully for my liking. "I got to thinking last night and realized after I left that you probably wouldn't call me with you being mute and all, so I thought I'd stop bye this morning and make you breakfast and maybe take a bit... well me talk, and you listen, unless of course you want to write instead, yeah, that should work," he somehow manages to say it all in one breath. Then he reaches up and pulls out a small notepad and a pen from his shirt pocket for me to use.
Adam and I sit their for the longest time, just talking about whatever, laughing and having a good time, before I realize what time it is and remember I have to go to my recruitment meeting. I explained to Adam that I had to go to a meeting but he could come back later and hang out or he could stay at my house and make himself at home. He was however still there when I left so I'm guessing he chose the ladder, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. Now here I am, walking down the side walk to get to the nearest recruitment agencie.

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤10 minutes later¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

I'm walking into the building and heading up to the front desk. "Hello Ma'am, how may I help you," a young man at the counter asks, I hand him some paper work I filled out a month after I graduated and hand it to him. He looks down at the papers, skims through them, and looks up at me in slight surprise. "Follow me ma'am," the boy says and leads me down a small dimly lit hallway to a door that said, "Recruitment Officer Dylan." The boy timidly knocks on the door, and we hear a rough, cold voice reply with a "come in," before the boy throws the door open, practically pushes me inside and runs out again.
