Dance With Me

So this fic is based off of a Peridot x Reader one shot I read and I don't know if I did it good enough. Tell me if it sucked balls cause I have no idea.

Age: Maybe about 3,750. I'm trying to make you as young as possible, but my headcanon says that Homeworld doesn't allow Gems going on mission when they are younger than 3,500.

Dipper: Maybe about 18. Lolz.

You were a B/N (birthstone name). One of the most trusted gems go on a mission to the planet Earth.

You were sent to Earth to acquire humans back to the ship. Homeworld got a little tinkery in the past few days. Always experimenting. This was needed for a Human-Gem experiment. You don't know why, but you felt it had something to do with fusions.

You spotted a valid human to be used as a sample. You head down to the Earth's atmosphere and landed safely in the woods.

Spotting the human, you make a run for it and grabbed him. You covered his mouth when he tried to scream for help. Your limb enhancers covered only his mouth, not getting it to the nose to let it breathe. The Diamonds needed him anyways.

"Are you crazy?!?!?! What are y---" He says as he got in the pod. He became hysterical so you shut him up by putting a finger to his mouth. "Shut up you clod. Now don't squirm, this pod is tiny and it can't even fit both of us here and I don't need your human panicky thoughts occupying the little space that we have." He nods at your statement and shut up until you two got into the ship.

"So, do you mind me asking a question?" He asks as he steps out of the advanced vehicle. "Well, since I predicted you asking that, no. And you just did." You joke and you both laugh. You didn't know where you got the sense of humor, but you shrugged it off.

"Okay, but why would you do that to me?" The human asked. "We--Homeworld just needs humans for experiments. The computer spotted your town. And it zoomed in and deemed you valid sample for the experiment." You explain as Dipper listened and noticed the big glass window showing the Earth and the blue-like aura that surrounded it, being callled Earth's atmosphere.

"Do you-- oh wait. My name is Dipper. Dipper Pines. I forgot to introduce, sorry." He apologizes and you nod in appreciation.

"(Birthstone name). Continue on with your question." You acknowledge him and let him continue.

"Okay. So yeah, do you have any idea of what the experiment is?" He asks curiously.

"N-no. I'm afraid not, only the Diamond Authority knows about this and their Pearls. It's classified."  You answer.

"Oh. So let me get this straight, you guys.. are gems?" Dipper asks once again.

"Yes. And I'm afraid that one gem to another is a type and not very unique. For example. I'm not the only B/N. There are more hundreds of thousands of B/Ns on Homeworld." You explain.

"Huh, amazing. So a type of gem, for example, a ruby, is never just one? There's always another one?" He asks. He sure is one heck of a curious human.

"Exactly." You confirm. You snicker at Dipper.

"D-do you know how to fuse?" You ask out of the blue. He doesn't know what you are talking about, so he just shrugged.

"W-well, I can teach you. Do you want to?" You offer Dipper.

"Sure." He stands from the floor he was sitting on and jumped a little.

"One way to fuse is t-to.. d-dance." You nervously scratched your nape.

"The way to achieve fusion is being synchronized with your partner until you form one being." You explain and offer you hand to Dipper.

"So... we just do synchronized dancing until we can fuse?" He continued, taking
your hand.

"Yes. Fascinating, isn't it?" You wander.

"Yes..." Dipper trailed off.

You two danced in hopes of being a fusion. Sadly, it didn't work. But you still danced.  You forgot what the dance was really about. You just continued to dance like there's no tomorrow.

"Dipper... I'm sorry if I dragged you all over to the ship.. I'm really really sor-- " You regretted the first decision that you ever made, grabbing Dipper and dragging him to the ship.

"No! Wait. It's okay. Don't worry, I had fun. So you're not going to take me to Homeworld?" He reassures.

"No... I'm sorry.." Your voice cracks are going to get worse every time. Holding back your tears was hard, but letting him go was harder.

"I don't want to leave..." Dipper said. Holding your hands, you let go of a few tears.

"And I don't wanna leave you, Dipper.." You started crying on his shoulder silently as he hugged you tightly.

"Promise me Dipper..." You mutter out.

"Yes?" He eagerly awaits your response.

"Promise me you won't forget me. Whatever, wherever, however you are. Cause I can't go back to Homeworld without your answer. I have this feeling in my stomach that I can't ignore forever." You say as he pulls away from your hug and look into your eyes, wiping your tears away.

"I promise. Will we meet again?" Dipper asks. He never wanted to leave you. And you never wanted to leave him. But the Diamonds, they would be mad if you rebelled. They would send a fleet to find you and shatter you. They are that powerful.

"Perhaps.. I want to rebel Dipper. I want to be with you. But, I don't want the Diamonds sending fleets of ships to shatter me. It would just disturb your world.." You finally admit.

"Please see me again." He pleads you.

"I will. Let.. let me take you back to your family. I'll explain to the Diamonds. I'll try to explain my mission had failed. I may even fled back here for you.." You reply.

You two lean in and kiss quickly. You two get in the pod and flew back to Earth.

"Thank you for showing a whole new world Dipper. May we meet again, and I hope that you won't forget me by then." You bid him goodbye and hug him again.
"Thank you for showing me what I needed B/N. I will cherish our moments together.." He trailed off.

"Bye Dipper. I'll be back soon." You say as you get back in the pod.

"Bye, my precious jewel..." Dipper sadly says and runs away.

After all these years, you finally seemed to have a happy place.
