[RACQUEL AT THE TOP]
~Racquel's P.O.V~
My eyes fluttered open, trying to adjust to the sun's rays beaming through the window's blinds. I rubbed my eyes flipping over and grabbing my rose gold iPhone 6 Plus from its charger. I'd gotten it a few days ago with Aladdin. He'd showed me a few things about how to work it but I was still a little lost. Just a little.
I scrolled down the notifications on my lock screen. A text from 'Laddin, a weather alert from late last night, and several email notifications. But what stuck out the most was the updates about the bachelor party that occurred at Chocolate City last night. The one that I had made about three thousand dollars off of in just four hours. I smiled to myself, reading different emails from different people giving me their feed back on my performance last night.
It had been like this for a month now. I'd officially taken Parrises spot three days after my first performance and the money was good. Parris still worked at Chocolate City but it was mostly just waiting tables and a hand full of private dances. And she hated me because of it. Most of the girls there did really, except for Karamay of course, even Camryn no longer spoke to my ass. But I wasn't there to make friends, I was there to make money.
Aladdin knew that I worked a night shift job, hell everybody did really, but I told them I worked at the Wal Mart almost an hour from here. It was less likely that they'd travel that far Only Farrah knew the truth.
I could tell that when I first told Aladdin, he was a little iffy on believing me, but he came around eventually. He was happy for me, but lying to him didn't feel right, it only made me feel bad. And that rarely happens to me. But on the bright side, I didn't have to sneak out of the shelter late at night anymore.
I looked at the time, 3:27 pm, and stretched, getting out of my bed. I reached under my bed to make sure my money was still where I'd left it (what I've been doing every morning) and when I felt the flat and rolled bundles, I smiled to myself. Sooner or later, I was gonna have to find a new stash spot.
I looked around the empty room, my eyes landing on the bed that once belonged to Michelle. She'd moved out about a week ago and went to live with her boyfriend, which I didn't know she had. We never really spoke to each other when she was here, it was always like a " hey"or "good morning" but never a real conversation. I guess that's why I didn't know she was leaving until the day she left.
I got up from my bed and walked to the bathroom. I did my hygiene thing and walked to my dresser, my shoes lined up along side. I was supposed to be going apartment hunting with Aladdin today. Aladdin was just going to tag along and help me of course. Don't get ahead of yourselves people.
I chose some Natural Suedette criss-cross lace up heels, some light washed skinny jeans and a White blouse that criss-crossed in the top center. I put my clothes on and walked back to the bathroom. I put on some clear lip gloss, filled in my eyebrows and put on some mascara; eventually starting in my hair. Since it was still a little straight, I wet it, turning it back into its puffy curls. Just as I was about to wet the other side, my phone went off, indicating that I had a text message. I dried my hands on a towel and walked towards my phone.
Laddin❤️: Almost there baby
Me: Okay
I took my phone back in the bathroom with me and began to finish my hair. By the time I was done, I heard chatting down stairs then foot steps coming up them.
