Jocelyn Rackart was a beautiful, talented young lady. She was 13 and was in 8th grade. She had her whole life ahead of her. Jocelyn lived in Rodchester, Iowa. She went to Pointer Lags Middle School. At school she had many friends that were always there for her no matter what.
In 6th grade, she was popular and well known. Most people liked her. Then she met her best friend in the whole wide world at the time, Sarah. Sarah and Jocelyn went to all the dances together and hung out all the time. Jocelyn was also very close with Sarah's cousin Kelly.
In 7th grade, many people started to dislike Jocelyn. They would talk behind her back and call her ugly and fat. Jocelyn had put on a few pounds when she baby sat that summer, but she didn't think it would make a difference. She was dating a awesome guy named John. She still had her friends Sarah, Kelly, Nicole, Katie, Brianna, Renee, Jessica, John and Calvin. They were one big group of friends. In the beginning of the year Sarah and Nicole started to date. Many people thought it was weird that two girls would date. Jocelyn didn't care because they were her best friends.
Around December just before winter break Sarah had some big news. Sarah was moving to Illinois with her dad. After Sarah left people started to talk about Sarah in a bad way. They said how she was a lesbian and how Jocelyn must have been one too if she agreed with them. Jocelyn didn't think it was a big deal if someone was lesbian or not, because it was their decision. Sarah's other best friend, Megan started hanging out with Jocelyn. Soon Megan asked Jocelyn out. Jocelyn was dating John and was happy with him. So she told Megan that she already was dating someone. Megan took that the wrong way thinking she meant Jocelyn was already dating her.
Megan had gone around telling people they were dating and well Jocelyn didn't want to let Megan down so she went with it. She soon realized how bad this was, because she was dating John and Megan. She felt horrible about it and wanted to tell them, but she couldn't get the courage to tell them. So Nicole (the only one who knew this was going on) went and decided she would tell both of them. She ruined not only Jocelyns relationship with John and Megan, but their friendships. Jocelyn just couldn't fix it.
Soon people started to make fun of Jocelyn because she dated Megan. After a few months Jocelyn asked out John again, and surprisingly he said yes. Jocelyn was so happy. She became friends with Megan again, the only problem was Megan was madly in love with Jocelyn. The year went by fast, the jokes, the name calling, all the trips to the counselor. Jocelyn rarely ever even talked to Sarah anymore. Jocelyn was happy with her life and her choices and her friends.
