The Life of a Middle Schooler

Chapter 1

Summer was over and now it was time for school again. Jocelyn was sad that summer was gone. All the days sleeping in, listening to music, and just having fun. Jocelyn hadn't really talked to her friends much over the summer, but she figured it was because they were always busy. She really missed them and wanted to go see them. Now that Sarah was gone it was Jocelyn, Kelly, Nicole, Brianna, Katie, Jessica, Renee, and Calvin. Jocelyn and John had been dating for a year now. They were so cute together.

First day of school came and Jocelyn was all ready. She got to school and found Jessica. They went into the gym to figure out what room to go to for homeroom. Jocelyn was mad that she didn't have homeroom with Jessica, because they were best friends. While leaving the gym she saw Nicole, Renee, and Calvin. Then she saw John in the hallway. They hugged and Jocelyn told him that she needed to go find her class, but she would hopefully talk to him later. Jocelyn was confused because she hadn't seen Kelly. She figured she was just a little late.

Finally Jocelyn found her homeroom. She went to the room they told her to, but then they told her to go to a different room. Then told her to go to a different room. Finally she found it. They gave Jocelyn her schedule. Once the bell rang she went to her 1st period. It was math, her favorite subject. She was in advanced math so they called it algebra. John was in her math class. Jocelyn's next period was science. Surprisingly she was in advanced science, they called it Physical Science. Nicole was in her science class, which made her science class better. When Jocelyn was talking to Nicole about not seeing Kelly, Nicole said that Kelly moved. Jocelyn lost another friend. Next she had literacy 3rd and 4th hour. Nicole, John, and Renee were in her literacy class, but she didn't understand why she wasn't in advanced literacy. It was fine, because she had Nicole, Renee, and John.  

After literacy was lunch, but she went to lunch with her 6th period class, social studies. Jocelyn knew some people in that class, but didn't really talk to many of them so that class wasn't fun. She was even in advanced social studies, they called it history. She didn't think she was that smart at science or social studies. Lunch went by and so did social studies. Then came band. Jocelyn played flute. She had Nicole, Renee, Jessica and Calvin in her band class. Nicole played the trumpet. Renee played the tenor saxaphone. Jessica played flute just like Jocelyn. Calvin played baritone. Band was awesome because Jocelyn had all her friends.

Next Jocelyn had chorus on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and skills on Tuesdays and Fridays. The only person in her chorus class that she knew was Katie. After chorus she had exploratories. Her first exploratory was Leader in me. Katie was also in that class with Jocelyn. Then came the end of the day. Her first day went pretty well she loved having her friends with her.
