Briar's POV

I packed my bag with all the essentials. Extra clothes, books, sleeping bag, books, granola bars, books, nutella, books. Heck, why not pack a few more books JIC (just in case)? Stuffing my bag to the brim, i stole a glance at tara. She was frowning as she packed some makeup and a mirror.
"Oh, come  on, grumpy pants! This'll be cool! we can get to know eachother better, and tell stories, and-"
tara cut me off. "We are going on a suicide mission that will take a month for us to get to the mountain. We will be hot, tired, and sweaty. The dragon you hatched will eat us in one bite. How can you possibly be happy?!"
i blinked, and thought for a few seconds. "At least we have a little bit of magic, right?"
"just the little bit we learned in class."
"great! we can-" i stoped myself, thinking. I had hatched this terror. I had done this. All of it was my fault. I frowned, and tried not to cry. stiffening up a bit, i declared "well, fine! I'll just go off on this quest by myself!" I picked up my bag and stormed out of the school, taking care not to look behind me. Whether tara was staring at me out the window, following me, or unpacking, i would not show i was bothered by leaving in any way.
=============
(An hour later)
i heard a twig snap behind me, and i quickly turned. The air was hot in the forest, and i felt a little lightheaded. "If you are following me, tara, your bones will be fed to the dragon!" Tara stepped out of behind a tree, with her arms up.
"okay, okay. you got me."

well, this was a little exciting to write. Leafpaw's turn!
