"Mom can we stop at Dunkin Donuts please?", Talia whined. Her mother, Mia, was dropping her off at school.
"Girl didn't I say no two minutes ago? You're already late for ya first class."
Talia sat back in her seat with a mean mug, looking out the passenger seat window. "I just wanted some coffee," she mumbled.
"And I just wanted some damn sleep before my shoot later, but look who needs a ride. I can't wait 'til you can drive yourself," Mia chuckled.
"I can! Dad has been teaching me! I'm sixteen, that's old enough," Talia explained getting excited.
"You're not taking my cars anywhere until you get a drivers test and your licence. I can promise you that. But anywho, get your stuff ready I'm about to pull up."
Talia grabbed her bag and cellphone then leaned over to hug her mother.
"Learn something today and stay outta trouble. I love you," Mia said, giving her a kiss on the forehead.
"Love you more."
Mia watched her daughter until she made it into the schools entrance. Knowing how sick people could become once you make it into the limelight, Talia's safety was her number one priority.

Cairo, now 37, was still creating art for his blossoming clothing business. He also pursued an acting career which was slowly but surely taking off. He already took roles in three movies so far. He always had time for his family and just like 14 years ago, they still adore and love the man of the house.
Mia was now 35 and people on the daily told her she still didn't look a day over 20. Known for her talent as a supermodel, she's even more popular than before. But she also enjoys being a paid makeup artist in her spare time. She loved it so much that 4 years ago, she started her own makeup line named Diverse. She got the name from what her brand represented. A huge range of skin tones for foundation. Eyeshadow colors that went from dark and shadowy to poppy and vibrant. Different color eyeliners, eyelashes that stood out, and lipstick colors that were praised by many because they'd never seen such beautiful shades. It was thriving. More than she figured it would.
Entering her home, Mia placed her car keys on its key hook alongside the others and made her way upstairs.
"Babe!", she called out.
"I'm in our bathroom!", Cairo yelled back.
She walked in their private bathroom and watched as he got undressed.
"You just gonna stand there and watch me or you gone get in?", he asked with a smile, turning the shower on.
She smiled back and stripped down, too.

Talia...
"How you doing, T?", Tyree asked me before sitting next to me.

There was a substitute in our chemistry class today. Our teacher doesn't grade substitute work so everyone was talking, listening to music, and doing their own thing.
The shy part of me kicked in and I avoided eye contact. "Hey."
"Here you go actin' like you don't know a nigga," he said with a smile.
He knows why I keep my distance from him and everybody else. It's nothing personal, it's just that it's hard for me to trust everybody.
Anyone I've ever befriended turned out to just be using me for some kind of "popularity" they thought they'd get. Since my mom is famous and my dad is extremely well known, it's been impossible to make an actual friend. To avoid that, I don't talk to anyone, I do my work, and I mind my business in school. Basically trying to blend in as any other kid.
On the other hand, Tyree is cool people. I just never gave him a chance.
I smiled a little at his statement.
"Ah, see? There it is. I been told you that you ain't gotta be in that shell around me. If you give me the time of day I can show you that you can trust me," he said in a low voice.
My smile faded. For the first time since he sat next to me, I turned and made eye contact. "I want to believe you, but you know it's hard."
"I know baby, but let me show you."
"I'm not your baby," I said with a straight face, suppressing my smile.
"Not yet anyway," he winked, "But what you should do is let me get ya number so we can talk more."
I hesitated. I couldn't be giving out my number to just anybody.
"Okay, I understand. Not now," he stated, with his hands up in a surrendering position, before I could say anything. Thank God.
The bell rung indicating the end of the day.
"Just give it time," I said with a light smile. Then I collected all my things and made my way to the front entrance in the middle of a sea of teenagers. I looked through the crowd and saw my dad standing by his truck at the curb, waving at me.
I eased through the people and made my way over to him.
Once we settled in, I pulled him into a hug.
"I missed you," I mumbled. I didn't see him all last night because he came in late, and not even this morning since he was asleep.
"I missed you too, Ladybug. Wanna stop for that coffee you love?"
I excitedly said yes.
I was a Daddy's Girl for sure.
