The breeze is slowly swaying my hair. The night is a bit cold and I can feel my body shiver a little. Yet I'm out in a dark cold night walking slowly towards his house. I ran my hand to my arms and shoulders trying to calm myself from the cold. Why did I forget to put on a jacket before storming out late at night?

I sigh, I don't even know why I decided to check his house this late. There's something nagging me to do so. As if there is something good that will happen.

I came in front of his house while still trying to wash away the cold. It looks like a haunted house because of its darkness in the center of other houses full of life, proof that no one's living there. I stood there for a few minutes just staring at the big house in front of me.

Why I am here, again? I ask myself. One more look at the house and I turn my heels to leave. There's nothing I can do here. I was about to walk away when I catch a small flicker of light, from one of the windows, in the corner of my eyes. I feel a sudden kick in my chest, I don't know whether in nervousness or hope.

Not minding the possible danger that's awaiting inside, I unlock the gate with the key that Shinichi gave me. Without caution, I ran towards the front door and open the door. I close the door roughly and ran to the room where the small flicker of light is. In Shinichi's room.

"Shinichi?"

"Shinichi?!"

I keep on calling his name until I reach the room. I harshly open the door only to find nothing. I surveyed the whole room trying to find someone or something that might be the reason for what I saw earlier. Still, I can't find anything. Maybe I am just seeing things.

The adrenaline rush that I feel a while ago is slowly getting off. I can feel my knees shaking and I can feel my energy losing slowly. I sigh in disappointment and collapse on the carpeted floor of his room.

"Shinichi," I murmured curling up in the carpet. Tears are now starting to fall. And I cried there silently until I fall asleep.

I woke up from the sounds of a banging door. I open my eyes just to see the sunlight is pecking from the curtained window, and I scan the room when I notice that I was not on my bed. I sigh when I remembered what happened last night. I stand up groggily when I realize that the banging was coming from the front door of Shinichi's house.

I hurriedly came down to open the door and see who disturbed my sleep. Only to find my Dad fuming in anger. I gape at him disoriented.

"Dad?"

"Why did you sleep here? You only said last night that you're just going to check the brat's house. Yet I discovered you didn't come back?"

"Uh! I'm sorry Dad, I fell asleep."

"Tch! Let's go home."

I nod. I follow my Dad outside after I make sure that I lock the door. I give one last look at Shinichi's house before I turn to leave.

He's been out for almost six months now. And he never contacted me between those months. I'm worried sick and afraid that he might not come back.

Where are you Shinichi? What happened to you? Are you really that busy for not able to call and inform me what are you doing this past month?

Don't you care for me anymore, Shinichi? Why are you doing this to me? You should know that I am worried, right?

I hurriedly prepare my things and fix myself. I still have school for today. I cook breakfast for me and my Dad, I eat and leave for school.

I saw Sonoko waiting for me below the stairs outside the building where we live. She smiled and greeted me.

"Still haven't heard of your husband, Ran?" Sonoko asked teasingly. She's talking about Shinichi. She and our other classmates had been calling Shinichi and me husband and wife.
