A Commander's Death
.
Me and the commander had lead out another expedition outside the walls. The armored Titan was back. I rode my horse right toward it and narrowed my eyes and latching the lines of my 3DMG onto the Titan. I lunged off my horse and pressed a trigger using the gas to lift me into the air. I heard Erwin calling after me but this filth had to die. I dodged its hand latching onto the nape speeding in quickly. With the right blade backhanded, I spun in cutting it. My blades broke but they did pierce the surface of the Titan's flesh. My eyes widened and quickly headed down so it can't reach me. I landed back on my horse with a grunt and took off again. Erwin reached my side. "Levi. Stop it! You're going to get yourself killed." "I'm sorry. Won't happen again." I looked down and felt the ground rumbling beneath us. I turned around and the armored Titan was right behind us. "Levi go ahead!!!" Erwin shouted and I looked at him. "I'm not leaving you behind!!!!" I felt something break in my heart. "I can't lose you. Just go ahead. Trust me." His blue eyes met mine and I hesitated but went ahead anyway. I looked back at him making my horse go faster. Erwin latched onto the Titan and made his way around to the back of the neck. He slashed at the nape not stopping. I refreshed my blades and stopped my horse since the armored Titan had stopped running. It was focused on the commander now. Erwin slashed more at the nape avoiding the Titan's hands. I watched on and turned looking at Hanji who was riding over to me. "Hanji stay!" I shouted and of course she stopped at my side. "He's going to get killed." She held her hands over her mouth. We had lost Mike already.... I'm afraid Erwin is next. We can't lose a great man. The commander was eventually grabbed by the arm in the Titan's mouth. I narrowed my eyes and ran toward it jumping off my horse. I latched on and spun in attacking the Titan's legs to drop him. Erwin purposely yanked off the Titan having his right arm ripped off. My eyes widened and I returned to my horse riding under Erwin.
I caught him but my horse reared up throwing us both off in fear. I hit the ground hard and so did the commander. I stumbled to his side and wrapped his arm quickly to stop the bleeding. He coughed and looked at me. "Le... Levi." I glanced over and tears filled my eyes. "I won't make it. Leave me." "I'm not leaving you, old man. We're going back together." The armored Titan ran off in another direction. Seems I wounded him. Erwin laid his left hand on the side of my face. I leaned into his touch and closed my eyes. "Leave me. He looked over and saw that his horse had gotten killed. "I'll only be a hassle." I couldn't help but smack him for him for that. He slightly chuckled and closed his eyes for a moment before looking at me again. "I guess I've deserved that." I laid my head on his chest. "You're not staying here to die." Hanji was frozen and tears ran down her face. 'We can't lose another.' She covered her face with her hands crying. "You have no choice. That's an order." He winced and I noticed a gash in his side. I took off my green cloak and wrapped it around his torso to see if it would help. He laid a hand on mine and I looked down. "Levi.. I..." Erwin let out a soft groan in pain and his eyes closed slowly. I looked at him and shook him gently. "Erwin?" I turned his head some and checked for a pulse. It had gone silent beneath my touch. "No.. No no no." I started crying into Erwin's chest. Hanji rode over and slid off her horse to her knees. Her eyes were full of tears and she was trembling. I clung to the commander's lifeless body and cried more. I raised my head and let out a scream of pain. Hanji made it to Erwin's side and looked down. "Levi we should go. Its not safe here." She choked on her words and I had to calm down first. I looked over to see a Titan coming. I ran of toward it and tore it to pieces with my blades before killing it. I wasn't leaving Erwin's body here to be forgotten. He's coming with me. After I took down the Titan. I headed back and mounted onto my horse. Hanji helped out and lifted Erwin onto my horse in front of me. She mounted hers and we rode back toward the wall. My tears stained my cheeks as they kept falling. Erwin looked peaceful. I held onto him and Hanji stayed by my side looking down. It was just me and her now. For now. I heard of the Titan serum that could save him. I'm going to do it. I don't care what happens. I'll take the risk and take down anyone who keeps my from saving my commander. He deserves life.
