CRASH CRACKLE RUMBLE
A storm began to brew.
Dark gray clouds rolled in from ahead and a drizzle of wet rain sprinkled upon the terrain.
"Run, Run, RUN to shelter!" screamed the main grasshopper. Millions, or what seemed like millions, of green specks of panicking grasshoppers ran into tree trunks, under trash, and what not.
"Wait, Wait, What about mmeee???" screamed Hippo as he kicked with his stubby little legs. No answer was given to him, for the area was completely deserted. It was just Hippo, the pot (with the dying flame,) and the puddles of fresh, fallen rain.
Hippo was sad.
What was he going to do?
What was going to happen?
Why were grasshoppers so green?
Questions pondered in Hippo's tiny noggin when a ccrrrreeiiikkk sound was heard above Hippo's head. The net, unable to support Hippo's weight began to rip. Snap Snap. The fibers of the net began to rip apart, faster and faster. Hippo was happy now! Finally, he would be free from this horrid place of hippo-eating grasshoppers. The net was about to fully rip in half, enough for Hippo to creep out and run, run far away until he was back in the hippo colony. The final fiber snapped and Hippo jumped out, triumphant. He began to run as fast as he could, each step making him closer to his family. He ran into the forest, occasionally falling into a mud puddle, hoping he could find his way home.
But which way was home?
Hippo stopped in his tracks, looking left, then right, seeing if he could smell the familiar smell of hippos.
Not a trace was smelled, and now, Hippo was sad. It was cold, wet, and he was lost. Lost in the pouring rain, lost in the middle of no where. A tear fell upon Hippo's fat face as he longed for his mother, his father, and his brother, Heppo. He wanted to go home, but more importantly, he wanted some food.
Hippo was hungry. His stomach grumbled with the sound of the pouring rain, now dying down.
Where could he find some food?
He began to trudge, hoping to see some Lilly pads, or wet grass he could munch on. But there was nothing except for berries on a bush... but he knew hippos couldn't eat berries.
Hippo was sad...
