If someone is trying to bring you down, that means you're above him.
****I entered the room huffing and puffing, panting for breath. I felt utterly self-conscious because of my dis-oriented state and just prayed that my wig was in place and aroused no suspicion.
It's a Friday and my class was supposed to start from three in the evening, and I made my usual excuse to escape my mom and take dance lessons outside her knowledge. She thinks I've been attending cooking lessons and she had no idea what exactly I have been cooking.
Bad pun, Mel.
I was a whole thirteen minutes late today because I couldn't find my wig which I had carelessly put away somewhere else other than its appointed spot- hence my disheveled state. I came running into the class, ready for a long lecture from the instructor.
To my utter surprise, there was a big crowd gathered in the middle of the room, cheering someone, and the instructor was nowhere in the scene. Curiosity and my nosey nature got the best of me and I strutted forward to investigate the source of the public amusement.
To my utmost astonishment, I beheld a boy- about my own age, maybe, being kind of bullied by my make co-dancers.
What is kind-of bullied Mel? You either bully or you don't!
What the hell is this about, I wondered, and scooted closer to the guys harassing their victim, to get a hang of the situation.
"Come on Benny boy, hit me! Hit me!" said Hulk. He was the most muscular make I had ever witnessed and I wouldn't be surprised if he was on steroids. I looked at the aforementioned Benny boy.
He didn't even flinch on being provoked. Instead, his fists were clenched at his sides, his jaw stiff, his dark brown hair disheveled and bass of perspiration running down the sides of his face.
His dark brown orbs held little emotion.
As I got closer to the group I heard more into their conversation.
"Oh Benny boy is scared", one of the other bullies said with an evil smirk, causing the crowd to uproar in laughter.
"Can't you fight us little boy?" another said.
"Come on, show us some of your moves Mr. Ballerina".
And at this the crowd burst into fits of laughter and cheered them on.
"If you were anything close to being humans, you wouldn't attack someone unarmed the way you are right now", I stated, surprising even myself.
The attention shifted from the earlier spectacle to me, and I couldn't have been happier.
Please do note the sarcasm.
"Stay out of this Mili, you have no business here", Hulk said.
"You think so?" I asked chuckling.
He just stared at me.
I neared him, slowly and steadily, and stood up close, right in front of him. He had about a feet on me.
"You know what I think-" I continued, "- I think you could do with some chiding from your mommy, little boy".
The room fell silent at my tone but it did very little to erase my irritation.
Surprise flickered through my victim's eyes.
"Bullying someone who is visibly weaker than you are is an act of cowardice. With the kind of built you sport, this is the last thing I expected of you-" I reprimanded him.
