I woke up in one of the beat up mattresses on the floor in the old house. How did I even get up here... Last I remember was... No... Fuck no...
I KISSED HIM?!?! How? Why? No...
Where was he anyways?
I got up, I was still in my clothes. Yeah, ok. I didn't care about changing clothes, waste of time and effort.
I walked down the half broken stairs and into the living room. And there he was. On the couch, sleeping... Lazy ass...
"Get up, this isn't a villa with thousands of people to do shit for you. We gotta get going before someone comes back to this place." I said sternly to him.
He rubbed his eyes as he sat up. His bed hair everywhere. God, he looked hot right now. No, stop that!
I got my bag and started to check if we had left any evidence anyone was here the last few days. I picked up empty beer cans and such. When I was done, Michael had finally gotten up off the couch.
He sure wasn't a morning person...
"So, what's for breakfast?" He asked. I chuckled at him. "In my world there's no such thing as breakfast." His eyes widened. "No breakfast?!"
"Nope, only on special days. Or if I'm going out with McKenzie." I said as I headed for the door. "And who is McKenzie?" He asked as he followed me with his bag. "Oh I forgot to tell you. She's the only friend I have left, and she's also a street wanderer."
He just nodded as we walked outside. "C'mon, we're going back to the city. Then you can meet McKenzie and we can do graffiti or whatever." I said as we walked down the path to the house.
We walked down to town while we kinda talked. None of us had mentioned the kiss last night. Maybe that's better...
As we got into the streets of Sydney Michael asked me, "So, where are we going? Do you know where she is?"
I thought for a second. It was Thursday. On Thursday mornings she used to go to the place me and her met. Wait. What date was it today?
"What date is it today?" I asked him. He pulled up his phone. "Uhh, it's 13th October."
13th October. It was one year since me and Kenzie had met. Just today. "Ok, change of plan. We're going to a store at the black street." His eyes widened as I said that. "T-the black street?! No one goes there... Unless they want to get killed."
I chuckled at his theory. "No one gets killed there when you have a reputation like mine. I know people around you know." He looked at me like I was crazy. "Ok." He said in a small voice.
We got to where the entrance to the black street was. We had to sneak between two walls that were maybe 40 cm away from each other. It was tight but we could still get through pretty easily.
When we both were through I turned around to face Michael. "Welcome to the black street. Where strays meet."
I was happy to be back. I hadn't been here in a few months, I wonder how many newbies there were here... Me and Michael walked into the first little shop we came to.
The beat up old place looked just like the last time I was here. Chairs scattered around tables that were just placed wherever they fit. Some guys and a few girls sat around the locals. But who caught my eye were the 3 guys that sat in the corner, as usual.
I walked up to them with Michael following me. "Hello, princesses. Remember me still?" I said as I sat down and slung my feet onto the table.
Michael looked pretty shocked about what I just said to the 4 buff guys sitting next to me but he still sat down.
"Who forgets about queen Lexie, huh." Robin chuckled. "Especially after last time you were here." Michael cocked an eyebrow, but he didn't bother to ask about it.
"But who's your friend here?" Justin asked as he wiggled his eyebrows. "Michael. He's a new one. Just fled from home, and I'm taking care of him for a few days. You know, showing him where to go and not. Nothing more..." I lied. A little white lie to avoid questions.
Cause Michael didn't flee from his home, he wanted to know what it felt like to be a street wanderer, and this gang was not used to people like that.
"What happened to 'I never take anyone in' huh?" Robin asked again. "He looked way worse when I took him in, let me tell you. I found him sleeping up against a brick wall. Only a small backpack with him."
I almost got angry at him for asking silly questions. "I helped him out and I brought to the old shack up in the woods, we slept there and now we're here."
Robin and Justin looked at each other then they looked at Peter. Who I noticed haven't said anything yet. I pushed it aside and got to my point. "Anyway, has Kenz been around lately? I need to talk to her."
I took my feet down from the table and put my elbows on the wood instead. "She was here yesterday, she told us she was going to the 'Thursday spot' wherever that is." Peter finally spoke up.
"I knew it..." I mumbled as I got up from the table. Michael followed my movements and also stood up. "Is the shop open? Or did I mix up the days it's open and not?"
"It's open." Justin said. As he turned around to face the table again. Me and Michael walked out the door. "Ok, what was all of that?"
