Harry’s POV

We were in Hannah’s living room. Louis was at the end of the sofa taking his ease while Ellen and Becky were stuck together a worried look on their faces, waiting for explanations. Louis already knew everything but the girls had any clue of what was happening.

After Hannah and I kissed the previous week, we left the party discreetly and I drove her back home in silence. I did not call her the next day, neither the following but on the third day I couldn’t stop thinking about her and I did not stand the idea of letting her down, again. We met, and talked for hours. It was an odd sensation to talk with the girl I avoided and fought with during almost two years. But what was really weird was that it looked like before the accident. I was sat on a bench and she was pacing in front of me. Her blond hair waved on her shoulders and I could not restrain a smile. Her cheeks were red and I just wanted to make her stop talking by kissing her soft lips but I did not move and kept listening to her.

We finally agreed on the fact that we needed each other but she needed to tell the truth to her best friends, as well.

She had call them and invited them for tea a Saturday afternoon. Louis was back again for the weekend and I asked him to come. He was he kind of guy who could relax a whole crowd with his smile. When Ellen and Rebecca had found me in the house they were unable to utter a word. Hannah made them sat and we waited in silence the arrival of Louis who was late, as usual.

“Well,” I began, “Louis is already aware of the story but Hannah wanted us to announce you that we are back together.”

Becky's mouth opened as large as possible.

“Good Lord.” Ellen uttered.

“Finally!” Louis screamed and made the girls jump.

“But if I convened you it is to tell you the truth about what happened, what really happened when we were together.” Hannah spoke. For the first time, I took her hand in mine, encouraging her to tell more.

“You remember when I had the car accident, I told you it was with a cousin..”

Her friends nodded waiting for her next word while Louis was watching them a mocking smile on his face.

“In fact, it was Harry who was the driver but, I could not tell you because he risked to loose his driving license.”

“My step father works in the police,” I continued, “he arranged the affair and I did not have any issues. Anyway, I was not in fault even if I was driving a bit fast, the man who crashed his car against mine was drunk, he was guilty.”

“Ok, but, what’s the link with your break up?” Beck wondered.

“After the accident, Hannah was in coma and I could not stop thinking it was my fault. I decided it was better for her if I just go away… I first tried to disgust her by being rude, I invented lies so she finally left me…”

Hannah squeezed my fingers.

“He left me thinking I would be better without him.”

“I knew it!” Rebecca exclaimed.

“Well,” Louis said, “Nice try but now you’re back together!”

“You wasted almost two years fighting each other while you were still in love… that’s tragic.” Ellen whispered.

“It took us time to understand.” Hannah spoke.

After this declarations, Louis made several jokes and all of us seemed to relax. When they all left the house the night had fallen.

“My parents are not coming back right away,” Hannah told me. “Would you please stay a little more?”

“Sure.”
