Blake's P.O.V
Of course, our plane arrangements got messed up so we had to sit split up.
Zach and Mellisa sat together and I sat next to Sam. It was whatever I wasn't really trippin about it anymore. Which of course made Mellisa happy. This was going to be a 5 hour plane ride so I hope Sam doesn't plan on talking the whole time because I'm going to sleep.
----an hour later----
I haven't fallen asleep yet and I don't know why. I just can't. Sam is asleep. A few times she even leaned her head on my shoulder. I didn't stop her. I didn't feel the need to wake her up or anything. Like who cares.
She's super adorable when she sleeps too. At one point her hair was falling in her face so I brushed it behind her ear and immediately regret it. The lady sitting next to us assumed we were a couple. Great.
She was in her like 60's so I couldn't be rude or anything. But I was so annoyed.
"You guys are an adorable couple" she said smiling just above a whisper. Right away I turned back to see my wife and son sleep. Thank god.
"Oh.. We .. Aren't... She's not. We aren't like.. Together" I said avoiding eye contact.
"I'd beg to differ. Even if you aren't. You should be. The way you are looking at her. That's truly something special" she said leaning forward.
I just smiled and looked away and by this time. Sam woke up. I'm guessing our voices woke her up.
When she sat straight up she looked over at me and smiled and then stretched. "How long was I sleep?"
"Not long, I think we still have about 3 hours left on the flight" I said looking at her right in the eye. She had this sparkle in her eye but I couldn't exactly tell what she was thinking because she wasn't looking at me. She was looking past me. Out the window.
She leaned over me to get a better view which caused her hand to rest on mine. She didn't move it but I don't think she even noticed. I didn't move my hand either. I just watched her face in amusement as she stared out the window at the wonderful view.
I took my thumb and slowly started rubbing her hand and that's when she noticed. She looked down and pulled away immediately.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.. Sorry this is weird" she said leaning back in her seat and swallowing.
"Haha nah it's cool I didn't mind it"
I said looking out the window.
"What?" She said looking dead at me. I could feel her gaze burning through the side of my face but I just couldn't turn to look at her because honestly, I don't know why I just said what I said. Or what I even meant by that. I mean no, I didn't mind her hand but ugh, I don't know.
Again noticing me spaced out. She called my name.
"Blake" she said while rubbing my arm at the same time. "You okay?" She said making perfect eye contact with me. Her hazel eyes are gorgeous. And weather she knew it or not her rubbing my arm was freaking me out. In a positive way I guess.
I turned back to see Mellisa still asleep but Zach now awake. He was distracted by his iPad so I wasn't concerned. I also noticed the old lady sitting next to us. Her gaze following my every move.
I just looked away from her quickly and back at Sam. Guess I'll make sure to give her the window seat on the way back.
