My morning was average. No need to explain it. You're probably already bored by having to read two of them, lets just get to where you left off at Masumi and Kione's story.
We were ushered into an assembly hall with risers lined along the wall. I sat near to a boy I used to know back in Middle School. We were never that close, but got along. It was my safest bet, two girls sat on either side of him, like always. I was never interested in girls, or boys for that matter. I just wanted friends, you could call me Ace, or whatever you want for all I care, just know I don't like anyone sexually.
Anyways, his name was Abriel. He always had his little harem follow him around. I found it sickening. One of my close friends, Fayna, and the shy blue haired girl, Masumi, sat down next to me. They spoke for a bit and Fayna turned to me.
"Kae, do you think that kid dyes his hair or it's just natural?"
"Who, Abriel?" I asked
"Yeah yeah."
"It's natural." I answered.
"Also, the girl sitting next to Masumi." She eyed a dark skinned girl with long hair
"Yeah?"
"She keeps following her, you think it's weird?"
"She probably doesn't have many friends" I answered, another girl sat next to her. She was already known in the school for being the cutest by far. "What about Yunane? They seem to be pretty close,"
"True, true." Fayna turned back to Masumi and whispered to her what I said.
"Masumi just talked to her and I asked if she wanted to sit with us at lunch, her name is Kione." Fayna reported.
"They say yes?"
"Yep, That Yunane girl is cute isn't she? She's in my class."
"I think everyone has already heard of her."
"True, a cutie like her would be anounced right away."
A tall teacher came to the front and announced his presence with a sharp sqeal from the mic.
"Good morning students!"
There were alot of 'uh's coming from where the seniors sat.
"Let's all start this year off with a smile." He said.
Silence.
It ended after about an hour or so and it pretty much explained school and such, nothing we didn't already know.
The class went back to first hour and gathered their things before spreading around into the next classes. I went to advanced math next, followed by Masumi and Yunane, they kinda looked like cotton candy together. We spent a while there playing games and moved onto lunch.
I sat in the corner of the lunch table across from Masumi and Fayna. Kione sat next to me on the left of Yunane. It was simple and nice. I usually didn't eat my lunch, so I just read a book I brought with.
Masumi turned to me and looked at the cover of the book I'm reading, "Howl's Moving Castle!" She spoke with stars in her eyes, "That's one of my favorites. Have you seen the movie?"
"Yeah, I have. You like the series too?"
"Of course! Calcifer is by far my favorite character."
"I like Turnip Head." I smiled
"The ending was kinda jumbled in the movie though." She sighed
"Yeah."
"It's fun to have someone to dicuss books with, You should watch the movie, Castle in the Sky."
"I've been meaning to watch it, If you have any good suggestions you should text me them-" I pulled out a notebook paper out of my pocket which contained books I need to still read. I ripped off a piece from the corner and wrote my number on it. "-Here's my number."
"O-oh, you should text me some too."
Lunch was over before we knew it, it was nice to talk to Masumi. After I made my way to my next class I recieved a text.
"Here's a list of books I recommend" Must be from Masumi.
I named the contact and sent another text back.
"And here's my list." I sent a few titles of books I liked and closed my phone.
Classes went on with playing games and introductions.
School ended after what seemed like a short time and I rode the bus home.
"Oh Kae!" Masumi called from the fifth seat.
"Hey," I sat next to her, "You live close to the school?"
"Yup."
The bus took a route that stayed close to the school.
"It's strange we didn't go to the same school in middle then."
"I actually moved here just this year." She smiled
The bus started to move as it filled up a bit more. Music played through the speakers, it was a popular song at the time, I didn't like music all to much. I toned it out and continued to speak with Masumi.
"Where did you move from?" I ask, my curiosity taking the better of me
"From a bigger city in Japan, I studied english there and then moved here with my parents."
"It must be hard moving into another country, You have to get used to new things and the culture."
"My mom taught me about America and how to behave. I've had fun here learning about new things." She smiled
"What's Japan like?"
"Well I grew up in the big city and the streets were always full of people... It's a bit like the cities here." She looked down not seeming to want to talk about
"You miss your family?" I ask.
"Yeah... I miss my sister, she went off to college to study conmputer science"
"I understand, I miss my grandparents..."
"What happened to them"
"Passed away when I was nine years old."
"Oh..."
"Anyways, It's my bus stop" I say getting up and grabbing my bag.
"Oh me too" She says getting up as well.
We walked off the bus and started to walk in the same dirrection, it was silence till Masumi pointed to her house
"Here's my house, thanks for talking with me today." She bowed and stepped inside.
"See you tomorrow." I wave walking a bit further ot my house.
