The warehouse building was five stories with peeling red paint and a large set of loading docks off to the left side. There was a chain link fence on the right side facing that ran half the length of the block. The doors and windows were sealed tight.
"Merde!" she muttered under her breath as the naiad whispered in her ear.
Mistress, it is locked tight. I cannot enter. There is no hole, and no drop of water to go through.
"But the windows are broken. How can you not get in through those?" This was going to cause huge problems. If she couldn't tell what was inside, how did they know what to expect.
I cannot say Mistress, but I cannot get in. There is no one to even speak to. No water. Little air and much earth. But none I can get to speak with. She shook her head and pulled Quintus over to the side.
"I can't read what's in there. It's sealed tight. I wanted to send the werewolves in through the third floor windows, but there's something keeping me from seeing inside them. My naiad can't even break through." She heard Titus whistle low under his breath. Their time was running short. They only had roughly five minutes before the werewolves would make their change and she hoped to have this part of the plan mapped out before they needed to go in.
"Give me a moment." Quintus looked over the building. His eyes went glassy for a few moments while he muttered under his breath. "I cannot get into the top floor except through the building itself, but I believe I can blow out the power that is containing the lower floors. The hunters and werewolves can then go through windows as we discussed. You and I though," he turned his now focused gaze back on her, "will have to take the stairs. That, I fear, is part of the trap the master has laid for us. Once inside, we might can do more to lessen or avoid it altogether. But I cannot be sure until we are completely inside. I suspect this is why Catalina had such a hard time seeing the master as well that night." She nodded and looked over at the werewolves.
"Go ahead and make your change. We'll get the windows ready for you to go through." Manuel nodded at her. "And Manuel," she called to him, "y'all be careful in there." She watched them all trot off behind the metal building they were standing in front of. They had planned on leaving their clothing behind the building, and she was glad they had thought of that. The last thing she needed was four werewolves undressing in front of her. Plus, she didn't have any desire to see them make the change.
She wasn't sure what she was expecting when they came back from around the building moments later, but the seven foot tall man shaped wolves were not it. The sounds they had been making had not helped either. Their arms hung to their knees and all four were completely covered by a thick pelt of fur. Two were similarly colored and she thought they might be Manuel and Juan. The larger probably Manuel. Their fingers and toes were easily six inches in length and ended in wicked looking claws. They looked like they had come from a very bad science fiction movie. The kind she tried to never watch. She was glad she had never had to fight an insane one. The distance from the back of the building they had been at to her side, was covered in four short strides by them. They seemed to be built for speed. Fighting against them would be hell.
