(Taylor's POV)
I took out the acoustic guitar, putting the strap over my shoulder. I would do tied together with a smile, then the cover song I chose.
As Tied Together with A Smile ended, people started cheering. "This next song is dedicated to a special friend of mine. He'd be here tonight, but he had terrible news told to him right before the show. This is a song he recorded with and wrote for his own band Marianas Trench.This song is a cover and it's called Beside You." I smiled , playing the notes.
"When your tears are spent on your last pretense and your tired eyes refuse to close and sleep in your defense..
When it's in your spine like you've walked for miles and the only thing you want is to be still for a while..
If your heart wears thin I will hold you up
And I will hide you when it gets too much
I'll be right beside you
.." I closed my eyes, tears forming.
"your overwhelmed and you've lost your breath and the space between the things you know is blurry nonetheless
And the words you want are out of reach but they've never been so loud."
A voice joined me and I heard the crowd cheer and I opened my eyes to see someone standing beside me. It was Josh!
"And if your heart wears thin I will hold you up and I will hide you when it gets too much
I'll stay right beside you and nobody will break you.." Josh looked at me directly when he sang this, and I swore I wanted to cry. Josh had the strength to get up on stage after what happened.
