Blinded Tomorrow

Chapter 2

(Navi's PoV)

3 years have past since Rima Akito and her followers found me half dead, a bullet in my right shoulder, and my eyes gouged out, bleeding. They told me I was lucky I survived. In an era of this time, luck is all we have. That was true until I took over the position of leader.

I found a secluded area in the world that not even the Renewed had discovered. In 2 years time, we built a city in the trees. No one would notice us. We never went onto the ground unless a mission was assigned to us. The population of Previous were growing and everyone was happy.

I still wished for one thing. To find the person who was with me before I was found. I do not remember anything from before. I hardly care much for that wish anymore either. But it is still important.

"Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!" Tsk. Not again.

"Everyone! Head to designated areas!" I scream.

'Wait. There's something wrong about this intruder... No way. It's-'

"EVERYONE! IT IS A REFORMED! PREPARE FOR INTRUSION!" I warn everyone. The fact I am blind enhanced all my other senses.

Renewed are evolved humans, cold as ice. A Reformed is a Previous that is surgically forced to evolve so they become like a Renewed. These humans are different. They are physically stronger than a Renewed. Plus, their body temperature is slightly warmer Only I have defeated one before. It was a pain in the butt yet I still managed.

(Reformed PoV)

Where the heck am I? Tsk. This is what I get for being so arrogant. I get thrown into the only area unknown to Renewed... Sheesh... I don't have any data in this area. Might as well gather some then send it back when my time is up.

'Sssshhhppp' Static?

"Leavsshhpp... Or... Ssyypphhai.." Ugh... Now my radio is jammed up... I wonder what happened.

(Navi's PoV)

Looks as though his radio is jammed. I can't threaten him to leave, now can I? Oh well. I just need to force him out.

I secretly jump from branch to branch quietly. I jump off, leg first, towards the target.

'Haha~!! Onii-san is silly! I can't possibly let you do that!'

'I can't stay serious when I'm around you, can I? Haha~!!'

Uh? What was that? I missed the target. More like I did a summersault in the air, grabbed his shoulders, and sprung off of them. I know that was a bad idea.

I land perfectly in front of him so my back is towards him.

"Who are you?" his voice sounds really familiar, "Why didn't you kill me when you had the chance?"

"How should I know," I reply emotionlessly.
