xiii. eras

the world spun in cycles
for her -

the seasons brought
new hope and new loss.

she fell in tune with
everything around her,
but how she came to be;
she had forgot.

love ravaged her senses,
she was swept away by
any boy with a twinkle in his gaze.

she sacrificed her heart to a theif
who didn't give her the time of day.

so then she renewed her feelings,
build back up her walls...

that was until she trusted another,
letting them crumble and fall.

the fool that was herself lived
in chunks of time.

she was constructed of
many different  eras,
all drawn in a line.

she kept them all close to her,
stuffed memories into tightly packed crates.

and sometimes, she would look at them on sad, rainy days.

but she would never forget everyone
she had trusted her heart with.

they were all a part of her, and she never let her pieces slip.
