A witness to everything I carefully hid
A time when everybody dozes off to sleep
A time when I reminisce every memory.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness to my silent cries unto Thee
A time when my heart releases its grief
A time when I put down the walls I've built.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness to the prayers I lift up to Thee
A time when I could be the vulnerable me
A time when no eyes are finding fault to see.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness to all the secrets I share with Thee
A time when I tangibly feel the warmth of Your embrace
A time when I'm in great awe of Your amazing grace.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness to the confessions I make unto Thee
A time when I realize all the wrong I did
A time when You tell me to repent from my sins.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness when I plead my case unto Thee
A time when I search for Your word and Your truth
A time when You'd rebuke me as gently as You could.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness to the relationship I have with Thee
A time when You make my heart be still
A time when You surround me with Your peace.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness on how You converse with me
A time when my heart becomes one with Yours
A time when I'd fall asleep by the sound of Your voice.
The night has become a friend to me
A witness of how sweet and loving You can be
But it cannot comfort me the way You always do
You're more than a friend to me and I love You.
