True Friend Indeed

Slowly, their faces faded away.

Unfulfilled promises remained.

My whole trust in them, broken.

Wonderful memories, forgotten.

They said no time, nor distance, could ever separate

The hearts of friends that love, never ceasing to care.

Is time not that powerful to wash away memories?

Is there no real gap distance can create in between?

People say feelings come and go.

And I've learnt that friends do, too.

But there You are, who proved it wrong.

You valued me more than those who said they'll do.

In my weakest state, You held my hand.

In my saddest times, You cheered me up.

In my darkest hours, You shone Your light.

In my lonesome days, You left not my side.

I have nothing so precious

To proudly present to You.

Yet You chose me to be Your friend.

All the best, to me, You've freely given.
