Here I go again
Savoring the night
Wishing it won't end
Hoping the sun won't rise
Silently I pray
For God to stop the time.
I find rest in the peace
That this late hour provides.
No one's staring
No one's shouting
No one's pretending
No one's hating.
They're all deep asleep
Enjoying their dreams.
No one would see
If I drown in my tears.
At this time of day
Whom can I call?
At this lonely hour
To whom can I talk?
Who would spare a moment
To listen to my sentiments?
Would you comfort this friend
And wake up from your slumber?
All I want is a friend
Who knows what I need
Who doesn't ask for words
To explain what I feel.
All I want is a friend
Who can see through my eyes
Who knows so perfectly
The things I try so hard to hide.
In the brightest of days
They're all surrounding me.
In their times of need
They never forget to call here.
But when the sun sets
And they all needed rest.
Like a shadow was I
Gone in the dark of night.
So here I am again
Calling to a Friend
Who never goes to sleep
And knows how I feel.
A thousand bottles of tears,
Maybe a million, He keeps.
His ears are always listening
Waiting for me to call on Him.
Anytime,
Anywhere,
Anyhow,
You are there.
You are God
You're my Friend
You're my peace
And my strength.
There is one Friend
Who came and stayed.
The One who heard
Even the words I didn't say.
The One who can easily tell
When I'm far from being okay.
Lord Jesus, You're that Friend
And I'll never forget Your Name.
