The whole way to the airport, Henry was either asking questions about Florida or singing and dancing to the music.
JJ looked through the rear-view mirror at Henry. She's never seen him so happy.
"Where's Spencer, mommy?" He asked.
"He's at the airport now, waiting for us."
"Ok."
JJ smiled. She had a good feeling that this was going to be the best weekend she can ever ask for. A weekend with her best friend and her son, what could be better?
Then she thought of Will. She didn't cry though. JJ took a deep breath in and looked back at Henry.
"Are we there yet?" Henry asked.
"Almost, sweetheart. Almost."
It was about twenty minutes before they arrived at the airport. JJ unbuckled Henry and grabbed their bags. She took Henry's hand and they walked to the entrance.
When they walked through the entrance doors, they saw Spencer, leaning against a wall looking at his phone.
"Spence!" JJ shouted.
Spencer looked up and saw them. He bent down as Henry ran up to him and gave him a big hug.
"Hey Henry! How've you been?" Spencer asked him.
"Good."
Then Spencer stood up and walked toward JJ, with Henry following.
Spencer gave JJ a big hug with JJ hugging him back.
"Hey." He says.
"Hey."
Spencer looked at her. "So....you want to talk?"
JJ looked at Henry who was looking at plane sculptures.
"On the plane." She said.
"Ok." Spencer looked back at Henry too, smiling. "So I, uh, just talked to Hotch."
"What did he have to say?"
"He said that we are going as an undercover couple. We are looking for him."
Spencer pulled up a picture of the guy they were looking for on his phone.
"His name's George Daniels."
JJ looked at the photo on the screen. Then an announcement came on.
"Flight number 11, to Florida, is now boarding. Flight number 11."
"That's us!" Spencer said and grabbed JJ's hand.
"Come on Henry!" JJ called to him.
Henry ran up to her and Spencer.
"Wait, Spence. Where's the tickets?"
"I've got them." Spencer said smiling.
After getting all their bags checked and handing over their tickets, Spencer, JJ, and Henry entered the plane.
"Woah!" Henry said softly.
"I know! Come on." JJ smiled at him.
In the plane, there was rows of three seats on the left side, and two seats on the right. Spencer, JJ, and Henry got the left side, so they can all sit beside each other.
Henry got the window side, JJ was in the middle, and Spencer was on the aisle seat.
"Mommy." Henry tapped JJ's shoulder.
"What is it, hun?"
"I'm scared."
JJ hugged him. "It's fine, Henry. You know, for work, me and Spencer have to take a jet everyday!"
Spencer looked at Henry, smiled, and nodded.
"Ok mommy." Then Henry turned and looked out the window as the plane started to take off.
JJ faced forward and grabbed a pack of gum out of her purse. She handed one to Henry and then offered one to Spencer.
"Gum?"
"No thanks." Spencer smiled. JJ took a piece for herself.
"Are you, excited?" Spencer asked JJ.
"Yeah. It's gonna be a nice break from all the drama."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Yeah." JJ looked down and then back up at Spencer.
"What happened?"
"We broke up."
"What, when?"
"Earlier today." JJ wiped a tear from her face.
Spencer frowned. "I'm--I'm sorry."
"It's fine, really."
"I don't think it's that fine, actually. Is there anything I can do?"
"Not really. Spence, I just need a hug right now."
Spencer looked at JJ, and then he wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug.
JJ hugged him back. "You didn't need to do that, Spence. But thank you."
"I'd do anything for a friend like you."
Spencer and JJ just stared at each other and smiled.
"Mommy!" Henry said. JJ turned to him.
"What is it?"
"Look how high we are!"
"Yeah! Can you see any people down there?"
Henry looked around. "There's one, mommy! There's one!"
"Yeah."
Then JJ smiled and sighed as she leaned back in her seat. Spencer leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear.
"Do you want anything?"
"I could use a water. I think Henry could use a snack though."
Spencer nodded and then reached for the button to get service. A flight attendant came over to them with a cart filled with food and beverages.
"Can I help you?" She asked nicely.
"Uh, yeah. Is it possible to get a water and something to eat?"
"Sure. What can I get you?"
Spencer turned to Henry.
"Hey Henry! Do you want something to eat?"
"Yes."
"What would you like?"
"Um, pretzels please."
Spencer turned back to the flight attendant.
"A water and some pretzels, please."
"And anything for yourself sir?"
"No I'm--I'm good."
"So just one water and some pretzels?"
"That'd be great thanks."
Then the flight attendant pulled out a bottle of water and a bag of pretzels.
"Thanks." Spencer said as she left.
He handed the water to JJ, who thanked him, and then reached across JJ and handed Henry the pretzels.
"Thank you." He said to Spencer.
"No problem." Spencer pulled out a book from his bag.
"What's that book now?" Asked JJ leaning on his shoulder.
"It's the same one I was reading yesterday. Why are you asking?"
"It seems like you read a different book everyday!"
"The minimum amount of books I read in a week is five."
"You read at least five books a week?"
Spencer nodded. "Yeah!"
"How do you find the time? I mean with work and everything, I get like no free time."
Spencer smiled at that. And then he put his book down.
"What are you doing, Spence?"
"I'm thirsty so I'm going to get another water."
"Just drink mine! I only had a couple sips."
Spencer smiled. "Thanks."
He took a small drink from JJ's water and then handed it back to her.
Then an announcement came on.
"We are now landing in Florida. Please keep buckled and stay seated until we land. Thank you for flying with Alaska airlines."
JJ tapped Henry's shoulder. "We're here sweetheart!"
When the plane landed, Spencer, JJ, and Henry grabbed there bags and stepped out of the plane. It was now officially the start to their weekend in Florida.
