Chapter Seven

"I'm fine Derek- I'm really fine," Allison giggled as Derek had kept asking her questions on how she felt.

"No back pains? Is he kicking? Don't need your feet massaged?" she shook her head and sat down on his couch, rubbing Clooney's head.

"Nope, nope, and maybe," smiling she heard the doorbell ring.

"I'll get it," Derek smiled to himself and looked through the peep hole. Grinning a little more, he opened the door and it was Aaron, Jack and a woman.

"Hey, you're here early!" he chuckled and let them in.

"Ask Jack about that!" he rubbed his head as Jack looked inside the home.

"Alrighty. Oh and make sure everything is calm and quiet," Jack nodded and slid inside, going to Allison. She sat up straight and politely smiled. Aaron and Jack had a talk about what to say to her. He sat down.

"So...you're my sister?" he asked, unsure of how to act with this stranger.

"Yep, it's Allison," she smiled widely, "You look a little like dad...I guess that's normal."

Aaron walked inside along with a woman, she smiled to them despite not knowing who the woman was.

"Who's this?" she stared at the woman with a vaguely puzzled look.

"Hello, I'm Beth- Aaron's girlfriend," they shook hands as Beth sat down beside her. Aaron and Derek then began to talk.

"What are you gonna name your baby? I heard it's a boy? Right?" Allison took a moment to think.

"Actually...I don't know, I've never really thought it out that much," she rubbed the back of her neck and looked awkwardly at Beth, hoping she would make conversation.

"Could you name him Jack Jr?" Jack asked with an innocent look on his face; Beth rolled her eyes as Allison giggled.

"I'll give it some thought- okay?" she ruffled Jack's hair and then she heard the stove ding.

"I got it," Beth stood up and went to Derek as he was getting something out of the stove. Aaron sat beside her and held her hand.

"I want you to have this," he smiled and held up a blue bear with a yellow bow to her.

"For your son..." Allison took the bear and smiled before hugging him.

"I love it. Thank you so much...Daddy," she said and it finally felt nice for her to say that with love.

"Say...Allison do you have a date for the baby shower?" she shook her head; she had completely forgotten about a baby shower.

"Well...me and the girls could help you set it up- only if you want of course," Allison got up and hugged Beth.

"Of course...but I wanna help too," Derek set a hand on her shoulder and nodded.

"Of course, it's for your baby isn't it?" nodding to herself, everyone had then sat down to eat a casserole that Derek and Allison made together...

After the dinner, Jack went home sleeping in Aaron's arms with Beth close beside them. Derek was talking on the phone as Allison went to go take a warm shower. It was about thirty minutes later when she got out. Rubbing her face, she saw Derek in her room bending down to one of her drawers that was broken.

"I..." she stopped talking, looking at him. He got up and turned away, looking to the side.

"I thought you would be in longer...Well I fixed the drawer that was making some of the sounds at night," she nodded and rubbed her tummy slowly walking to him.

"Uh...Derek...I was wanting to ask..." she looked down at her feet.

"Yes..?" she bit her lip and looked up at him.

"I was wondering since...I've never really...actually had someone...to actually...well someone I could actually...I've never really-" she was interrupted by Derek's thumb. He placed a soft hand on her cheek.

"Of course," he whispered and she was speechless.

"You didn't even know..."

"I didn't have to," taking her hand and stepping closer.

"And...I was wondering...I've never had real...you know....it was always so...so..." she had a hard time saying what she wanted to say.

"Don't worry about it...and you sure? I don't think it would be safe-" now getting interrupted by her, he smiled.

"Oh don't worry about that! He's protected by this weird sack thingy that separates us apart....so his head won't get hit. As long as it's not...not bad then it won't hurt him or me," her eyes widened in slight hope that he would understand. He rolled his eyes and hugged her.

"Alright, alright. You did your research!" she nodded and blushed.

"I did...and I was hoping...t-tonight...u-unless you don't want to...of course since I'm..I'm fat and all," she raised her hands to cuddle his chest and he shook his head.

"You're not fat...you're just pregnant. You have a person inside of you. You're...temporarily big right now!" he winked at her and she nodded, feeling herself slightly being picked up and laid onto the bed.

"Thank you Derek..." she said to him as he brushed her hair out the way.

"Anything for you."
