The Start Of It All (JokerxHarley)

Chapter 10

Joker and Harley cruised down the streets of Gotham, looking to cause some chaos.

"So Mr J, what are we gonna do?"

Joker took his eyes off the road and flashed Harley his metal grin.

"I was thinking taking a nice trip to jewelers.. how does that sound Harls?"

She giggled.

"Sounds perfect Mr J!"

Both of them laughed in unison as Joker slammed on the gas pedal, speeding towards Gotham Jewelers.

When they arrived, Joker had two of his henchmen, Rocco & Johnny Frost, disable the security system.

Once the gate was let up, Joker took his purple and gold gun out from its holster and fired at the doorlock. Harley jumped at the sound of the gunshot. She winced as it ran through her ears.

Joker then ripped open the door and held it for Harley.

"Ladies first.."

He held his hand out to guide her over the broken glass that was scattered all over the ground.

Harley beamed at him.

Once they were inside, they all immediately started taking whatever was on display.

Harley fooled around a bit and put on a bunch of necklaces, bracelets and rings.

"Ohhh Mr J! Look at all the pretties!"

She held up her hand and wiggled her fingers back and forth, the light catching the glints of diamonds.

"Yes, just like you my dear"

Joker grabbed a few things himself before something particular caught his eye.

Towards the back of the store, he noticed there was a display of a rather large diamond.

More specifically, a Harlequin diamond, valued at $4,000.

With the swing of his cane, the glass shattered and he took the diamond from its velvet display.

Joker walked over Harley, with his hands behind his back and whispered in her ear.

"I got a surprise for you Harls..."

Harley spun around and smiled.

"Really Mr J?!"

She was grinning ear to ear, which made him smile.

"Uh huh, now turn around and close your eyes. No peeking!"

He chuckled.

She tightly closed her eyes as he moved in front of her.

"Okay, now open them"

She opened her eyes and squealed.

"A Harlequin diamond for my Harley Quinn." Joker said as he carefully placed it in her small hands.

"Oh my god, Mr J I love it!"

She wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a small peck on the cheek.

Oh my god, Harleen... did you just give him a kiss?!

Realizing what she had done, she quickly stepped away and looked down, avoiding eye contact with him.

Joker was about to say something to her when he heard police sirens outside the store.

Harley looked up and panicked.

"Mr J... what are we gonna do?!"

Joker reached for his holster, taking out his gun again. But then, he reached into his purple, crocodile jacket pocket and took out two small cans.

"I'll shoot. You pull the pins off of these and throw them at the cops, got it?" He said sternly.

"Yes sir." Harley said, in a shaky voice.

Joker and Harley both walked side by side to the front of the store and they ducked underneath the window display.

They had to take out four cops.

"When I say now, you pull both of those pins at the same time and launch it at them, okay?"

"Okay, Mr J."

"Get ready Harls...3...2...NOW!"

Harley quickly pulled the pins out and threw them at the cops. Once they hit the ground, green smoke rised out of them and laughter errupted from them.

Joker stood up laughing and began to shoot.

He had Harley behind him as he shot every cop.

When he finished, he raised the gun to his lips and blew the smoke from where the last bullet exited.

"Now that's what I call a killer performance! Whaddya say sweets?!"

Harley laughed.

"You sure are right Mr J!"

Joker turned back and yelled out for Rocco and Johnny.

"Rocco! Frost! Hurry and load the bags into the van!"

"Yes boss!" They both said in unison.

Joker and Harley quickly made their way back to Joker's car.

They both then sped off into the night, their laughs echoing off the buildings in the empty street...
