Joker's car tires squealed as he slammed the breaks in front of Harley's apartment.
"Honey, you're home!" Joker said as he got out of the car, cackling.
Harley's adrenaline was pumping and she had to admit, she loved the feeling.
She loved the feeling he gave her whether it was during their sessions together or just now, speeding away from the cops with bags of jewelry in the trunk of his car.She loved the feeling and she yearned for more.
She got out of the car to see Joker rummaging through the trunk, most likely looking for her share of their heist.
"Mr J? Can I just tell you that this was the most fun I had in a long time?"
Joker's eyes flickered with delight as he looked up at Harley from the trunk of his car and flashed his signature grin.
"I'm happy to hear that dollface.."
He grabbed her sack of jewelry and handed it to her.
"Enjoy your share sweets, you earned it and proved yourself to me."
Harley giggled as she took the bag from his hands.
They both were smiling at each other when the radio from the car broke their connection.
"This is Vicki Vale with breaking news. Earlier tonight, Gotham Jewelers was broken into and ransacked. The most valuable item in store, The Harlequin Diamond, worth $4,000, was stolen along with other necklaces, earrings and jewels. Evidence points out that this is the newest crime committed none other than The Clown Prince of Crime himself, The Joker. However, he had help from his henchmen and a new, unknown accomplice, witnesses say. Stay tuned for more information."
"WAAAAHOOOOO! YOU HEAR THAT POO? YOU'RE GETTING RECOGNITION!"
"Ohhhh Mr J! This is so exciting!"
Joker grabbed Harley's hand.
"Tell me something my dear... Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
Harley squealed as Joker grabbed her by her waist and pulled her into him. They spun around, looking into each others eyes, laughing.
Harley's laughter soon died down and sadness spread across her face.
"Wait Mr J! They know you escaped Arkham! What are you gonna do?!"
Joker cupped her chin and tilted her head up so her eyes could meet his.
"Don't worry dollface, I've got it all worked out..." He said as his lightly pinched her cheek.
"Well I'd love to stay and chat Harls, but I have a cell to get back to... See you tomorrow... Doc..." He winked at her as he got into his car and sped off, down the dimly lit street.
Harley smiled as she skipped up the stairs to her apartment door. She unlocked it and made her way inside, moving towards her bedroom.
She took her sack and scattered her items all over her bed.
Her eyes lit up as she scanned every item, each one glistening from the brightness of the moon, shining through her window.
She picked up a diamond necklace, placed it around her neck and turned towards her vanity mirror.
She didn't realize she still had her costume on.
She looked at her doctor uniform that laid on the floor and back at herself in the mirror.
She felt much happier in this than she did wearing her white coat. He made her feel again.
Feel what it's like to be alive.
As she stripped off her clothing, she felt like she was stripping this feeling away.
She removed her makeup and once again, she was Harleen Quinzel, psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum.
But she didn't feel happy anymore.
She felt empty.
She changed into a nightgown and laid down on her bed, surrounded by the precious jewels.
She began to trace every crevice of each item, giggling.
There was no way she was letting this feeling go and she will do whatever she can to feel it again.
As she began drifting off to sleep, her mind wandered endlessly about Joker and her alter ego.
She had a plan and it was a plan that would change her life forever.
