"wake up!"

I turned over

"WAKE UP!!"

I opened my eyes to see my mom above me with a worried look

"what? mom it's 2:00 am go back to bed" I told her, assuming she was having a nightmare

"no, someone's knocking on the door please come with me" she said

I got up and we both walked to the door afraid to open it

I closed my eyes and slowly opened the door, scared of what I might see

"hopper?" my mom asked with an annoyed tone

"sorry I should've called before I came over but I was just so excited and I needed to tell someone." he said

will walked towards the door and rubbed his eyes, he looked tired and confused. he stood there and listened.

"tell someone what?" my mom asked.

"everyone is safe!" he said excitedly

"what do you mean?" I asked

"ok. I will tell you guys the story" he said

my mom told him to come in and the four of us sat at the kitchen table.

"so I was driving by Hawkins and-" my mom cut him off

"in the middle of the night?" she asked

"well, yeah sometimes I like going over there and making sure there's no funny business happening." he explained

my mom shook her head "go on"

"ok so as I was driving by I saw that there were big loading trucks and a bunch of people putting stuff into them. so I got out of my car to ask them what they were up to. first they asked me if I had seen 11 but I said no and pretended that I heard she ran away." he was talking very fast

"so how are we safe now." will asked with a yawn

"they said they are moving to Kentucky because they can't find the girl. they are going to start all over with new test subjects and everything." he said

"how can we stop them?" my mom asked worriedly.

"I wish we could but we can't. they told me that if I told anyone about what they were doing or exposed them in any way that they will come and take the boys away." he said

my mom started to cry. "I don't want what happened to us to happen to anyone else"

I hugged her and said "mom, I know, it's terrible but right now we just need to focus on the fact that everyone is safe now. and we never have to see those people again."
