Chapter Two
I pulled into Starbucks and walked in and ordered my usual White Chocolate Mocha. As I waited for my drink I sat down at the corner table and pulled out my sketchbook. There was a knock on the window that was in front of the table I was sitting in. It was Ren. I smiled as he walked in and sat down.
"Hey there," he said. "Hi, how're things?" I replied. "Good I suppose, my mom doesn't want me out long. And I shouldn't be, but I wanted to hangout." He smiled, the way he smiled was warming. "Well I won't keep you out too long then."
"Don't worry about it, I'm old enough to know how long to stay out, I just don't want to keep you out so long. After all you are in school still."
"Well I have pretty good grades, my mom won't worry too much about me. It's my brother she has to worry about." He chuckled, "And why's that?" "He's the school soccer star, he's not as innocent as my mom would like him to be." He just kept smiling at me, I couldn't help, but blush a little. "I'm going to get a coffee, I'll be back in five," Ren said with a smile. I just nodded. I went back to my sketchbook as I waited for Ren.
"Ri!" a voice said. I lifted my head and saw Phil. "Phil," I said surprised, "Um..Hi."
"How's it going? Sorry I didn't say bye before I left. I had to get going." Phil had the cockiest grin on his face, the proud face of a liar.
"Oh yeah, it's fine. I ended up staying later than I thought," I said in the most monotone voice possible. Phil say down not taking the hint. "Well how about we go get lunch or something?" he said smirking. A cough came from behind Phil. "Excuse me dude, that's my seat," Ren said. "Doesn't have your name dude. Now get lost." "Seriously dude," Ren said grabbing Phil's shoulder, "Move." Ren grabbed him and moved Phil from out of the chair. "Who the fuck are you? I'm trying to have a talk with my girl here," Phil said aggravated. Ren looked at me confused, "Your girl?" his left eyebrow lifted up. I stood up and looked at Phil, "Phil I am not your girl. You see me as nothing, but a girl to fuck then leave. that's why Austin isn't your best bud anymore and why you're going to be hated at school," I looked at Ren, "Do you want to go somewhere else?" He smiled and nodded. We headed to the park shortly after. We traveled to the swings to where we first met.
"I'm so sorry about what happened back there. He was my brother's douchey best friend," I said. "Nah, don't worry about it. I'm just happy to spend some time with you," Ren said smiling. We just continued talking going on about what high school was like for him and what he liked and his hobbies. And then we talked about what I planned to do after high school. Our amazing day was coming to a sad ending. Ren walked me to my car, "Well, I had an amazing time today Ri. It was great getting to know you," he said with a smile. I couldn't contain my smile, "I had an amazing time as well. I'd really like it if I could see you again?" I said hopefully. He chuckled and nodded his head. "I will definitely see you again-and soon." He leaned in and kissed my cheek and said goodbye. I drove off with the biggest smile on my face. I couldn't help it, I really was starting to like this guy.
