P.O.V Ethene
"Yeah, they are..." Aphrodite whispered back.
There was an awkward silence. Kind of like when the teacher yells really loud and almost makes you pee your pants out of shear terror. But, only this time, I didn't want to pee my pants, I wanted to ask questions. Questions about this whole affair. (Not like love, don't worry.) I was so confused. I absolutely appalled the feeling. It made me feel stupid.
Suddenly, another throat was cleared. And, of course, it had to be the person I was dreading the most. Zeus. That one, actually, made me want to pee.
"Well, well, well, what have we got here?" Zeus announced, breaking the eerie silence. As I took one look at Zeus, I examined his features. Come on, I was curious, I mean all I heard about him was in those lousy textbooks; where do they get their proof? Zeus was a very huge man, with curly, silver, shoulder-length hair. He had a silver beard and mustache, also. He was a very stocky man with broad shoulders, hairy chest, and since all the gods are supposed to be perfect, he had around a ten-pack, and that is just a rough estimate. . Zeus was wearing a royal crimson robe with gold edging (Hahaha like Gryffindor). He was also very intimidating, since he is like the main god in Greek mythology.
After I was done with my analysis - just like Elene was doing - I started to examine my mother, Athena. She had the most beautiful golden locks I had ever seen. They were straight at the top, and then had soft little waves at the end. Her skin complexion was an exact copy of mine. Her eyebrows we just like mine also. They were skinnier at the tips where they meet, and then they made the fattest arch at the ends. They then ended in a skinny tip. Her eyes... Oh my god, they were amazing! They literally twinkled. Like glitter. They even twinkled in the darkest times. Looking into her eyes was like getting lost in an endless chocolate river.
She was wearing a golden strapless dress that complemented her curves so well. Also a gold necklace with so many designs it was impossible to trace. Like in a maze. Her skirt had fabric ringlets. Like spaghetti. But don't get me wrong, it was beautiful and extremely flattering.
P.O.V Elene
As Ethene was obviously observing Athena, I decided to take a look at my mother, Aphrodite. She had beautiful golden locks, that had strong ringlets and tight crinkles. She had the most mesmerizing eyes that I ever laid my eyes on. She had the brightest ocean blue eyes, that can take you over. Her defined cheekbones went perfectly well with her full lips, and the brightest teeth ever. She had flawless skin, without a single crevice or bump to be seen.
She wore a sunset pink dress -- if you would call it that, more like a bathing suit -- she had some type of translucent robe over it. It had a very low v-neck, that showed tons of cleavage. Under the breast area, there was a lace design that was braided around her body. Showed off many curves, it was flattering... but too much was showing.
" They're here," Athena said once more, but with more confidence. Athena and Aphrodite shared a glaced, and got out of their seats, and started to gracefully walk towards us. They both stood right infront of each of their daughters -- Aphrodite stood infront of me, while Athena stood infront of Ethene -- and my mother cleared her throat.
" Excuse us, father, we have some buisness to take care of." She said. Her voice was soft, but firm. I took a shaky breath, and gave a confident smile (atleast, I thought, it probably turned out crooked). Athena chuckled under her breath, and gave a firm nod to Artemis and Apollo. They both entered the room, and sat at Athena and Aphrodite's seats.
They closed the door behind them, which resulted with a huge crash.
We then started to walk around the large castle. And man, it was gonna take awhile.
P.O.V Ethene
Once we've gotten out of the castle, an eerie silence occured.
" Oh my god, Elene!" Aphrodite exclaimed. Tears filled at the corners of Aphrodite's eyes, and she embraced Elene. Athena playfully rolled her eyes at that, and averted her gaze to me. I was really stiff, my reaction wasn't quite the same as Elene. Athen-- mother, might've noticed that. She gave me a questioning look, and I exhaled a shaky breath.
"Ethene.." Athena murmured breathlessly. I gave her a blank look, but inside I just wanted to scream in frustration.
" All this time?" I whispered, looking into her eyes. I built up my courage and gave her a hard look.
" All this time?" I repeated. I couldn't hold back my anger. " No ways of communication? No messages? Who was that person that I called 'mom' back home? What kind of mother were you?" I added harshly.
" Oh, Eth-"
"You know what? Forget it. I just want to go back home."
I turned on my heels and headed to the orchard by the kingdom.
P.O.V Elene
As Ethene stomped her way to the orchard, I let out a shaky sigh. I understood how she felt, being betrayed by our own mothers.
" What's wrong with her?" Aphrodite asked, with an eyebrow raised. I stood infront of her, and stared into her eyes.
" Why, all this time?" I repeated Ethene's question. I scoffed and shook my head. They seemed lost for words." Also, nothings wrong with her. Silly how we don't ask ourselves that question." I stated. I took one hard look at both of the Goddesses, and followed Ethene.
" Ethene?' I cupped my mouth while I screamed this, so It echos around the whole orchard.
" Ethene, Ethene, COOKIES, Ethene..." My echoed replied.
" Hmm, my echo is broken..." I muttered.
I stared at each tree as I walked pass them. I wonder what the apples taste like..
I grabbed the nearest apple to me and I took a bite. My eyes widened and I dropped the apple. It had multiple tastes. It tasted like, like... the rainbow, I guess. Isn't that Skittles job? Weird, I was craving skittles when I really think about it. I swallowed the bit I ate and continued walking. A clearing was up ahead.
"Funny, really. I shouldn't be walking into clearings anymore." I muttered under my breath. What Ethene said had got to me. Why did we notice the clearing now, back at home? We walked in the forest multiple of times, and we haven't noticed the clearing. Why did they need us now? Was it a mistake? Would this be a twisted dream, and I'd wake up in any second? I had a gut feeling that even if they hadn't called us before, this could be important.
I stopped in my tracks as I saw what was up ahead. Instead of the usual (not really usual back at home..) golden apple trees, I saw an enormous olive tree. I shuddered. I hate olives. That reminds me, isn't Athena's symbol something with olives? I shrugged and strolled toward the clearing. As I got a whole veiw on the olive tree, I saw Ethene laying right under it, eating... olives.
I cleared my throat softly and strolled to Ethene and plopped down right beside her."... Olives, really? Right now?" I said, trying to ease the tension. She gave a dry chuckle and removed the recent olive from her mouth, and rolled it on the grass. She sighed.
" Why now?" She whispered to herself.
" Who knows? I got a feeling that it isn't just for a tea party, probably something big if they wanted to see us." Ethene's face darkened as I reasoned. " Is mom, really, mom? I mean the moms back home." I questioned.
" Guess not our real moms, but they really did raise us, and thats a job a mom must do, unlike some Goddesses..." She answered. I pulled some grass near me, and threw them in the open. Suddenly, the grass regrew. I got frustrated and kept doing it, determined to reach the dirt. That goal wasn't going anywhere.
" The apples taste good." I finally announced.
" The apples?"
" Yeah, the ones around us." It seemed like Ethene didn't really notice the orchard, I guess she was so built up she just ran, and ended here.
" I wonder what they could possibly want, though.. " She said, while running her fingers through her hair.
" The apples taste like Skittles.." I joked. " Go have one!"
