Elizabeth POV
Zale was using his magic to try and fix me, when a shadowy figure swifty walked up to me with some mysterious object. I couldn't depict what it was or who was there, and I was about to call for Zales attention.....when he struck me. Pain signals flashed through my body, and I dropped everything I was thinking only being able to feel this horrible miserable pain. The corners of my vision were black, and everything else was blurry. My mouth formed about O shape, but no screams could come out. I was about to black out. The pain soon became unbearable, and I let out a forced ear shattering scream. Then......
everything went black.
I plunged into a colorful dream, and I was floating in the water....pink water. This was getting weirder by the minute, and I was hating every minute of it. I floated on, and came to a huge gate. I didn't know if I should cross it or not, so I decided to wait. After a while I was wondering what I was waiting for. I decided I should wait for Zale, he was smart and had a lot of answers. I glanced behind me to see another gate, that lead up and behind the bars of the gate I saw Zale looking at a person lying on his couch...wasn't I lying there before I went black? Now I was confused...Why was he hanging around another girl? Now I didn't want to go through that gate then..it hit me.
Zale POV
Now I was panicing. Someone was in here who wasn't supposed to be. I searched the room, and found no one. There was no way out my of my layer besides taking the chair elevator thing all the way back up the tree. I didn't kill her, I mean why would I do that? But something wasn't right. Breaking out of my thoughts, I realized there wasn't time to find the cause, SHE WAS DYING. There was only one thing to do, use my magic boosting machine. It's a machine that once I imagine something it makes it happen it makes the changes happen faster. Basically it speeds up the process.
I closed my eyes, thinking about a situation that would fix Elizabeths health. I was drawing a blank. My mind could normally think up solutions, but all I could think about was Elizabeth dying. I had to focus if she was gonna survive. I imagined us at the base of the tree, before we went down to my layer. I focused on the details of what was happening, me and Elizabeth were talking about how she had her health just like it was BEFORE we went into the tree, but she still had the memory of the whole excursion happening. The machine made a huge buzzing sound, and my eyes flashed open.
It worked.
Elizabeth POV
All of a sudden the gate with Zale opened, and a giant wave flew at me washing me through gate, my eyes shut.
I opened my eyes and I was under THE tree with Zale. He had a relifed look on his face. I was so confused. "What just happened?" I pondered. "Well," Zale said " You were just hit in the head and almost died." The events of just before washed over me like a tidal wave. Then I remembered the two gates. "Zale, when I was out I had a dream of two gates..one with you, and one that went down," I commmented causisly, " I was about to go through the one without you.." Zale cut me off. "THOSE WERE THE GATES OF DEATH" he exclaimed "IF YOU WOULD HAVE CHOSEN THE GATE WITHOUT ME YOU WOULD HAVE CHOSEN DEATH!! All the pieces of the puzzle were put together before my eyes. "YOUR RIGHT!" I said.
Then my eyes got misty. "You...you saved me." I said, clearly about to cry. "Yeah, it was no biggy" Zale said shrugging his shoulders. "It is a biggy, you used your powers FOR ME!!! I was totally in love with him right now. I could, I could, I COULD JUST KISS HIM!
Zale POV
Wow I thought to myself, I actually did save her life. I DID IT! I was so happy I could, I could IDK SOMETHING CRAZY.
I stared crazily into her eyes, those beautful beautiful hazel eyes, they reminded me of fields of grain, oh how I wanted to run through those fields of grain.
Elizabeth POV
I was so in love with him right now, it was unexplainable wonderful.
Me and Zale decided to leave THE tree and take a walk in the park, it was to late to go to school, so we wanted to make the most of our time. We started walking, and I leaned in close to him, and we started walking hand in hand..giant foolish smiles on both of our faces. We reached a bench and sat down next to eachother. I leaned into his strong figure, resting my head on his shoulder. I lifted my head to ask Zale a question, "Zale, I never ever want to loose you," I said lovestruck. "Me neither" he replied, clearly in the same state as I was.
Things were getting awkwardly silent, when I turned my head to find his lips softly brushing mine. For a second I was startled, but then I started to kiss back. A sweet sensation washed over me, and I was swallowed in utterly complete love. I never wanted this kiss to end, but I knew things didn't last (plus I was running out of air) so I pulled back. I gently brushed his hair away from his eyes, now we just stared into eachothers eyes, completely swallowed by eachother.......I am glad that I said yes to that date.
