We're all sitting around watching some stupid reality tv show with skanky girls and bulky guys partying in New Jersey, waiting for Lucas to bring our food on his way home from work when i remember my bucket list and how i have only done 2 things on it. We traveled to England and i took it upon myself to learn a new language by my self, Spanish. Not very good at it, but learned the basics
"Lets volunteer at the animal shelter" I say, pushing Harley off the couch so I can get up.
"I need to finish my bucket list guys" I say, standing in front of the love seat couch they are cuddled up on
"Danny, you can barely walk up the stairs, how do you expect to walk dogs and play with them" Lucy says, standing in front of me
"I'll figure it out on the way, lets go" I say grabbing my keys and coat and walking out to my newly broken in jeep when Lucas pulls up beside me in the driveway
"Lucas!" I yell as I hear the front door slam, Lucy and Patrick following me.
His face breaks into that beautiful smile I love so much
"Yeah?" he asks, grabbing the food from the back seat
"We're going to check something off my bucket list, get in"
He looks conflicted at first, obviously doubting the fact i should do this, but honestly? There is no other option. I can't sit around waiting.
He eventually climbs into the front seat beside me as I turn the key in the ignition.
"You guys comin?" I yell out my window to Lucy and Patrick
They look at each other, having a mental conversation before Lucy shrugs her shoulders and walks over to the back seat of my car, climbing in next to Patrick
I back out of our slanted drive way and commence the 5 minute drive to the grocery store to pick up a couple bags of dog and cat food
"Are you sure you want to do this? Its pretty dangerous" Lucas whispers in my ear as i stop at a red light.
"Jesus Christ, if you guys are all going to treat me like a piece of glass that's about the break then I'm breaking up with you, and moving out" I yell, turning so I can look at all of them
"Danny, we just don't want to see you get hurt" Lucy says tentatively
"That is what I'm talking about! I don't want your pity I want to be treated like a god damn human being" I yell when I hear a car horn being pounded behind me and look up to see the light has turned green
I shift into gear and pull away from the light at a very high and illegal speed, as the anger and adrenaline burn through my veins
I proceed to slowly accelerate when i hear a car horn coming from my side of the car, and i look to my left and see a pair of headlights coming straight for me. I step on the gas, pushing the paddle to the floor, just missing the dodge pick up by centimeters.
"Jesus Christ Danielle" I hear Lucas yell from beside me
I smirk, knowing he's a cop and my dangerous driving and not to mention the fact i almost killed all of us clearly puts him on edge. Oops
I turn into the grocery store parking lot, noticing the pick up followed us from the intersection
I look over at Lucas, putting my hand up, indicating to stay in the car before stepping out and coming face to face with the middle aged man in the pick up truck.
"Are you crazy? You ran a red f*cking light! This is why girls should not be aloud to drive" He comes yelling in my face
"you're the one that almost hit me asshole" i say calmly, knowing very well im upsetting him
Lucy steps out of the car, knowing im winding him up
"Listen man, lets just calm down here, she's had a rough day and was just trying to blow off steam" Lucy says, walking towards him
"You and your friend are retarded" he yells coming all up in Lucy's face. Lucy has a handy capable brother and the word 'retarded' isn't okay to say to her,
I step towards him, know the men have mad their way out of the car when i see Lucy punch the guy square in the nose. Lucas steps beside me, watching the scene un vail. Looks like she can handle herself.
The guy stands up straight just so Lucy can go off on him, screaming and yelling about how dis-respectful and disgusting he is
