Chapter 2  - What Came Before and After the Funeral

"The baby's coming! I-it's here!" Claimed Mortisha, the woman who's pregnancy enlightened her and her family's sad life. "Dave, call the midwives hurry!" The woman gave out shrieks as the child kicked the inside of her mother's tummy. Dave ran to the neighbors to call the midwives of the town. He requested the best ones, Lulie and Petunia. Lulie, a woman of 54 lived alone with her dog in a small cabin. Lulie, of 48, lived with her husband and two children opposite of Lulie. Naturally, they teamed together whenever birth called.

The midwives rushed to Mortisha's cottage and gathered some supplise. Lulie, who had seniority (literally) over Petunia gave the orders. "Pentunia! I need some towels, warm water, and some moon leaves!" (Moon leaves aren't exactly leaves from the moon, but a powdery substance when mixed with water turned into a cream to reduce pain.) Petunia handed Lulie the supplies and directed Dave to hold his wife's hand. Dave did so.

The wife, in labor screamed at the top of her lungs, and gave sounds of frustration and anger, and most of all pain.  She squeezed her darling husband's arm tightly, making stab marks with her long, sharp fingernails within his skin. Dave ground his teeth and bit his lips to refrain from screaming. Being the baby he his, he had to be stong for his lovely wife. He loved her beautiful red hair, that had waves as if it were an ocean of hair. Her perfect peach shaded skin made him aroused any time of the day. The most amazing part of his wife's beautiful body was her eyes. How clichè he might sound, he adored her green, (possibly emerald) eyes. They glowed even in the darkest light.

However amazing her body might sound, Dave couldn't help but loathe his wife for her screaming, scratching, and crying.
