"Hey Marco!" I said as he was just waking up.
"Oh, hey Star." He yawned.
" So, since it's a weekend... I was thinking we could do something fun!"
"Well, we could go to the roller skating place."
"Ooh! The Roller Skating Place! What is that?"
"Well, have you watched Hockey before?"
"Yep!"
"Well it's like that, but you're not on ice."
"Ooh! It's like magic!"I whispered intriguingly.
"Yeah, I guess so!" He laughed.
I began to do my hair, with my wand of course, and I decided to go with a french braid. Then to top it off I put a cute little bow at the bottom where it was tied. I was officially ready to go.
"Marco! I'm ready to go! Let's go PAR-TAY! WOOT WOOT!"
"Just come on!" He laughed as he walked into the garage. I skipped into the garage and sat on the end of his bike. "Hold on!" He reminded me. I held on to his waist.
As we took off, I looked around at the beauty here on Earth. All the trees, changing into colors of red and orange; the cold, refreshing air; the smell of pumpkin swirling freely. I honestly couldn't be happier anywhere else besides here. I slightly smiled at Marco. He looked up at me and smiled back.
I looked back at the road and saw a squirrel just sitting there. Minding it's own business.
"WATCH OUT!" I screamed. We were screaming as loud as we could. He quickly swerved out of the way. Then of course he was heading into a thorn bush. We screamed louder as he took a sharp turn almost hitting a lady and her baby. I used my magic to fly out of the way. As we flew over head, we looked at each other and screamed even more. As soon as we got back on the rode, a truck was coming at us, head on. He swerved out of the way, sharply. Sharp enough to make us two fall off, right in front of the 'Roller Skating Place'. There was a moment of silence until we both just broke into laughter, and couldn't stop. We then walked into the arena, still giggling about what just happened.
"Two tickets?" Moaned the unenthusiastic cashier.
"Yep." Marco replied.
The cashier sighed. "Ok. That will be $3.00" I raised my wand and began;
"MON-"
"No, Star. I got this." Marco said, shuffling through his pockets. He gave the cashier $3.00, and in return we got two shiny tickets.
"Ooh! Shiny!" I said as we walked into the other room.
"What shoe size are you?" He asked.
"I'm a 6. Why?"
"Well, just like hockey, Roller skating requires special foot wear called Roller Blades. They help you, well, roll." He explained.
"Ooh! I like this already!" I giggled.
He smiled back at me.
"Size?" The person behind the counter asked.
"One 6 and one 8 please." Marco replied. The guy walked away and came back with two pairs of shoes.
"Enjoy!" He said.
"Thank you!" I replied. Marco then handed me the shoes. I put them on and then asked Marco;
"This should be easy, right?"
Marco laughed. "Not really. You'll get used to it though."
I got up and began to skate, obviously struggling. I almost fell, until something stopped me. I looked up, and saw Marco, carrying me.
"Here maybe this will help." He said as he put me up. He then slowly grabbed my hand. He looked at me, then I looked at him, but he quickly looked away. He then began to move into the arena, as I followed.
We skated around for a few minutes, until I decided to skate on my own. I let go of his hand and began to skate. Slowly dragging my legs, side to side.
"You're a natural!" he shouted.
"Woo hoo!" I shouted back. I then began to skate on one leg.
"You were right, Marco! I am getting used to this!" I shouted.
No response.
"Marco?" No sign of him on the arena. I went into the arcade room and searched. I then saw him. I don't know why, but my heart sank. He was with Jackie Lynn Thomas. She was his crush since grade school. They were laughing together. I skated over there and said;
"Marco! There you are! I was looking all over for you."
"You brought... that with you?" I looked at Marco and he looked angry.
"Yeah. I did. Is there a problem?"
"Uh, yeah. She's a freaky demon from another dimension. And you're this brave, adorable-"
"Don't talk about her that way!"
"Wait... You actually like her?" She asked.
"Yeah. I do. She's the bestest friend I could ever ask for."
I smiled at him, and he smiled back. Jackie got up and looked at me disgustingly and skated away.
"Don't listen to her. She's being a jerk." Marco told me.
"Thank you. For sticking up for me."
"It's the least I could do." He smiled.
"Ooh! A photo booth! Marco, let's go!" I perked up.
"You cheer up pretty easily!" He laughed, walking towards the direction of the booth. I skipped into the booth and began the photos. We took a total of 5 pictures. All of which I thought were hilarious. We laughed about the pictures until I saw it. The biggest bear in the history of stuffed bears. I gasped.
"Marco I need one!" I yelled, shaking him.
"Okay, okay!" He said putting money on the counter.
"One giant bear please."
"Oh. The bear? That's a prize. You have to win it by winning the skate contest. It's in 15 minuets." The girl behind the counter said.
"Marco! We have to win!"
"Alright, alright!"
15 minutes of skating and talking passed and the time came for the contest.
"Ok folks time for our skating competition! Please begin right in front of the ribbon." The voice said. Me and Marco stood in front of the the ribbon. A few others came. Including Jackie.
"Ready...set.... GOOO!"
We all took off. So far, Jackie was winning. I skated faster, putting me in first. Then she gained speed, was about to hit the line, until Marco came zooming in, and won. There were many cheers, and the big bear was ours.
"Woo! Marco you did it!"
"Well I couldn't let you down." He mumbled.
"Awwww Marco!" We shared a hug then skated over to the 'Prize Counter' and received our bear. I began to feel tired. And Marco rode home.
We entered the house and I said to Marco;
"Thank you Marco, for everything. It was super fun!"
"Again, it's the least I could do." We shared a smile.
"Well, I'm going to hit the hay." I yawned.
"Ok, good night Star!"
"Good night Marco!"
