"Call from Pony Head." My mirror informed me. I answered.
Pony Head popped up on the screen.
"Hey!" She said.
"Hi."
"So there's this party tonight, you should come! What do you think?"
"I don't know. I heard about the party. Tom will be there."
"Wait. Is Tom that super cute guy you broke up with?"
"Yeah."
"Girl! Didn't Tom kiss you? After you broke up? He loves you, B-fly! Go for him!"
"No! He gets mad so easily and it's just annoying!"
"B-fly. Listen to me, girl. He can't control that. Being with you, he's at his calmest."
"Well, I guess he can't. He also is cute. And he does love me. No, no! I can't do that."
"Of course you can. You like him B-fly! And Earth Turd likes you."
"Marco? No! He is just my friend."
"B-fly. You like Tom. Tom likes you. Marco does, too."
I sighed. "Ok, Pony Head. Thank you. You always know what to do."
"You know it! Now I got to go! Just wanted to let you know. Please come B-fly!"
"Ok! That would be super fun! I'll tell him I like him."
"Yes girl! I'll text you the info!"
"Thanks, Pony Head!"
I hung up. I walked down stairs and saw Marco on the couch.
"Marco! So I'm going to this party tonight."
"Ok, who invited you?"
"Pony Head."
"Yeah. I'm not going."
"Ok! But Tom will be there. I am going to tell him I like him."
Marco's face grew red.
"W-what?"
"Oh yeah, uh, I like Tom."
"Star! You said he was a bad influence on you."
"I was young then! I can handle this."
"I should-"
"WITHOUT... a protecter."
Marco sighed.
"No, Star. I'm going. Wether you like it or not."
"Fine."
Time came the party and Marco and I walked through the wooden door. We were flabbergasted at all the lights and people. Tom stopped and looked at me. I realized that he then saw Marco. He rolled his eyes and looked away. I looked at Marco and smirked.
Marco crossed his arms. I walked over to Tom.
"Hey." I said.
"H-hi." He replied. He was shocked, but that didn't surprise me.
"So I was wondering... Do you wanna retry that dance?"
"I-I would love to!"
We got on the floor and began dancing together. Twirl by twirl, step by step. I just felt more... alive. Like he loved me again. Not the awful feeling I had when I was around him before. The music ended. We leaned into each other, slowly. Then all of the sudden, I thought of Marco. I stopped. All the things that Marco did for me, not to me, just popped into my head. Tom did nothing for me. He just did things to me. He hurt me. He cheated on me. I never told any one what he did, it hurt too much. I felt a tear run down my cheek.
"Are you ok star?" He asked.
"I just, I need air."
"Ok. Go ahead. Ruin another dance."
I ignored him and ran to the balcony. I saw Pony Head, 'getting her groove on'.
"Hey! How did things turn out with Tom?"
"Good. Until, I thought about Marco."
"Ok well that's just because he's your friend. Now go to Tom." She answered nervously.
"Did I tell you why I broke up with him?"
"He cheated on you. He didn't mean it Star jus-"
"What?"
I never told ANYONE what happened. She hated Tom until the call. Somethings out of place here.
"What?" She asked.
"How did you know?"
"About what?"
"Tom cheating on me."
"Oh, Tom told me what happened."
"Since when were you talking to Tom?"
"Recently. Forgive and forget ya know?" She laughed nervously.
"Yeah." I popped out my hip and crossed my arms.
"Ok now go back to Tom! He's waiting for you."
I walked back in the room.
"Hey Tom?"
"Finally! I thought you'd never come back."
"I kind of just want to sit and talk. To catch up on each other."
"Sure."
We walked over and sat at an empty table.
"So, when did you start talking to Pony Head?"
"Oh, Pony Head? A long time ago!"
Liar.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. I call her Po-head."
Po-head? She hates that nickname. Is that the best you could think of?
"Oh! What does she call you?"
"Uh, well. Tommy.."
"I thought you hated being called Tommy."
"She makes it work I guess."
They are up to something.
"Pony head come over here!"
Toms face was flushed. Pony head sheepishly floated over.
"H-hey, girl! You and Tom should dance! Ya know?"
"How long have you known each other? You and Tom.
"Last week. When I accidentally bumped into him."
"Oh! So you haven't known each other for a long time."
I looked at Tom. He looked very angry. Yes!
"No not at all! I must have been thinking of another Pony Head."
"Hold up! I'm the only Pony Head in the universe. No one can mistake me for another Ponyan."
"Yeah that's right! So are you sure you met recently? Or a long time ago, like Tom said." I said, squinting my eyes. They realized what I was doing.
"The world will never know! Let's go dance." Tom tried to save himself.
"Not until you tell me what's going on."
"Hey guys! What's up?" Marco said, walking over. We all stared at him. "Ok I'm guessing it's not a good time." He walked away.
"Well? Any thing?"
"Me and boss" Pony Head caught herself, "I mean Tom-"
"Tom, you never mentioned Boss being a nickname."
"Oh, yes! Boss is another nickname. Tommy and Boss."
Pony Head laughed.
"Tommy? Who would ever call you that?"
Tom shot her a look.
"Oh yeah, me. That's right I forgot. Sorry Boss. I mean Tommy."
"I know I'm blonde but I'm not dumb. Tell me what's happening."
"Ok, Star. I may or may not have had a deal with bo- Tommy- and he wanted me to invite you to the party to set you two up. It was a great offer. He gave me-"
"You lied to me!"
"No! I am doing you a favor, B-fly!"
"Don't call me that!"
Pony Head looked furious.
"Fine! You're not my bestie any more."
She floated away.
"And Tom? You will never ever be my boyfriend again!"
"Babe, listen."
"Babe? Excuse me! Don't call me that!"
"Ok. Star. Listen. I said I'm sorry a thousand times!"
"No, actually, you never apologized for what you did. You broke my heart."
"Fiona meant nothing to me! She was just some girl I ended up dating the same time we were dating. I don't see anything wrong with that. You! You ruined everything we had."
Did he just say that? It's my fault now? I'm going to pretend that never happened.
"Bye, Tom." I walked away.
I thought it was weird. Of all people, I thought of Marco. Then I realized. I like Marco.
