Nathan
Sara, my mind kept on repeating the name since I first laid eyes on the woman. I had heard of black widows, they are scary as fuck and alluring enough to kill with looks, but I knew that black widow was never going to be a word used to explain Sara. She was just a widow, who lost her husband two years ago, but love for him was what I saw in her eyes once I started to understand the readings of her eyes.
When I dug on Sara, I found out that she was the daughter of a family friend of Esmerelda's and that, when Esmerelda found out that her friend had passed away, she took in Sara. That was how Sara met Damian and they clicked.
They married three years after Sara arrived at their door step, however Damian and Sara got pregnant with Ella three years before their marriage. I guessed a rough hook up. I applauded the man in my mind.
Her background didn't seem to add up to me somehow because no name was mentioned of her family. Just Sara, her name originally given was Sara Anabella before she turned to an Antonio.
I wasn't given much upon the beautiful woman, but I did admit that there was no way I wouldn't have persued her if we had met before she met Damian. I still wanted to persue her but I knew I couldn't, she wouldn't let me.
When I found her in her office, my heart ached at the sight of her. She looked so torn. So fucking broken.
After making me promise to look out for her family but not her I was sure that this woman was sacrificing herself for something and she knew that I wasn't going to let her. She passed out with the most painfully relieved smile when I agreed to her promise. I lifted her and carried her to her bedroom. It was a huge master bedroom. The walls were painted royal blue, the bed that she slept on was white, with white sheets. The curtains of her room were white silk, and the floor was soft off-white carpet. She lived in a plain yet elegant bedroom.
Esmerelda cried when I put Sara on her bed, we realized she was under the influence of fever. Her forehead was burning up and she laid lifeless on the bed as Esmerelda stripped off her blazer, and then her shoes.
My heart resented but I knew I had to give them privacy when Esmerelda ordered one of the maids to bring a large bowl of water and towels while I took the duty of calling the doctor.
When I exited her room I found Ella hidden on the stairs. She seemed red and scared.
"What happen to mama?" She asked as I reached her.
"Hey princess." I murmured as I sat on the stairs and swept her up in my lap.
"Mama's awesome." I winked at her.
"Awesome?" She looked at me with her big eyes, "Awesome sick?"
"What's awesome sick princess?" I asked, feeling extremely amused.
"Mama says I get awesome sick when I get hot!" She jumped in my lap and then succumbed in my chest.
"Mama isn't hot, princess, she is asleep." I rocked us back and forth.
"Sleep?" She asked as if confirming.
"Yes princess."
She started crying.
"I'm scared uncle Nathan!" She whimpered.
"No, no, my princess. I'm here remember?" I caressed her cheek with my thumb, as I slowly started to realize why Sara was always acting like a stubborn tigress.
"Is that bad man going to come here?" She questioned cuddling up to me. Ella and I had bonded so much when we spend almost two hours straight in her room, playing with the basket ball hoop and basket ball in her room. She told me all the stories of her and her parents and zia. She told me how they used to play hide and seek and tag game all the time.
