Esmeralda
To say that I didn't notice the growing connection between Sara and Nathan was an understatement, I had seen them. They were so badly attracted to each other that both pushed each other away every moment of everyday. It was like, witnessing two lost souls finally finding some peace but finding it so unfamiliar that separation from it, felt right.
I watched the two fight in the morning, and I was horrified to see that bruise on my sweetie's belly. I expected Sara to tell him, instead she walked away but I was so glad to see that Nathan didn't give up. I didn't wait up to see much but I was glad of what I was discovering.
He forced her, normally I would've wanted to strangle the man who would force my sweetie into doing something she didn't want, but I couldn't help but be in support of Nathan pushing her. She needed the push, both, me and Nathan, we knew she was going through terrible things. I would usually stop by her room in the middle of the night when her faint screams would reach my ears. I would notice her sitting on her bed clutching her stomach.
What happened to her and Damian was unbearable, but I watched my son turn the world upside down just to bring that small smile on her face. He was torn apart when it happened, he didn't sleep for almost five days during the time Sara laid unconcious in the hospital.
Three years ago, Sara and Damian were three months pregnant with their second child when one morning Damian found Sara bloodied and hurt.
We, immediately, took her to the hospital but the bleeding and the pain seemed to be too much for her as she passed out in my son's arms before we even made it to the emergency Ward. I could still sketch the look on Damian's face, it looked like his world had torn apart, hell it had been. My son cried for the third time in his life that day. First, when his father died and second being when he watched Sara walk down the aisle towards him.
They had to surgically remove the dead baby from Sara's womb and when she woke up, she remained in shock for an entire week before she finally uttered her first word. Which was when Ella bruised her knee accidentally.
Sara changed after she lost her baby. I had seen the cheery and angelic girl that I had brought from Malibu, turn to a girl with nothing but a heart pumping blood in her body. The life that shone in the entire house through her eyes, faded before ours. She changed emotionally and physically. Her physique changed from loveable to dead, her body turned from bright to pale.
She practically died before my eyes.
She cried her eyes out after she returned from the hospital. When she recovered a little, she started taking care of Damian in every way possible, thinking, that she had let him down. My sweetie, always found herself to be guilty and wrong with whatever she did. It was wrong of her to put herself through such an idea.
Rina's mother, Samantha asked us to help Sara see a psychologist but Damian refused because he knew that the only person Sara had ever felt like confessing to, it was him. He was right, Sara recovered when Damian took her away for a week to my lake house in Los Angeles.
I still remembered the day Damian approached me with the idea of taking her away.
"Zia?" Damian's voice called me as I sat in the kitchen, feeding on my waffle on the island.
"Honey." I smiled, turning around and finding him in the door frame of the kitchen. His face was pale and his hair were a mess. I could feel the dread in his voice.
"Come here." I called him with open arms when he didn't say anything in return. He walked like a child, the way he used to when he would be sad, and rested his head on my shoulder as I circled my arms around his shoulders.
