Max POV
I couldn’t leave them. How could they think I was dead? I am right here aren’t I? This whole apocalypse thing is beginning to become a pain in the ass. Im not dead! “Can anyone hear me?” Why am I so alone?
Fang POV
“She’s in a coma.” He whispered.
Angel just looked at her. She starred at the body, breathing, chest rising and falling, eyes closed but no response. She wondered how Fang knew what was wrong with Max.
“How can you be so sure?”
“The side effects are there, the evidence clear.” He said.
Angel just nodded, she was too tired to question it or even understand it. Fang usually knew what he was talking about and not one flock member ever doubted him, but he wasn’t a doctor and was only ever hospitalized once. That one time Angel was pretty sure he was the one in a coma. Angel rose from her knees and slumped to the door of the tree house. “I’m going to head to the water, boil it so we have more drinkable stuff…”
Fang only nodded.
“Wake up Max.” she whispered then took off from the tree house.
Max POV
This being in a coma thing is also getting old. It’s just plain torture to know Fang and Angel are by my side, sulking and worrying over my still body. After years of being with them, being dragged through hell and back with them, I have grown so familiar with them because they are my family. If one of us is hurt, we all hurt. I can sense their presence beside me, I can tell when one leaves and returns. The one thing I have trouble sensing however, whilst in my comma is Dylan.
I hope Fang didn’t hurt him, or worse…even with such a stressful situation, I know Fang well enough that he can jeopardise any situation with his uncontrollable anger. While in a coma, I still sense the worst about my flock.
WHY CAN’T I WAKE UP?!
Fang POV
“I wonder what she’s thinking about.”
“I believe I told you to leave.” Fang clenched his fists so hard; he cut the surface of his palms.
“I wanted to make sure she was okay.” Dylan admitted.
“Well she’s not okay.” Fang shot to a standing position so he could face Dylan. He stared at him with dark and furious eyes.
Fang was stronger, taller, and more muscular and combat advanced than Dylan. He just wanted to rub that in his face all day long, but he had Max to worry about.
“You never know maybe-“
Fang cut off Dylan by clutching his throat. He flew forward and crushed Dylan against the wall so hard he dented it. Fang was right in Dylan’s face, still glaring.
“She isn’t your concern. She never was. She never will be.”
“I’m her perfe-“Fang gripped Dylan’s throat tighter.
“Shut up! Just shut up!” Fang roared in his face. He began to grip Dylan’s throat tighter and tighter until the boy was coughing and gasping for air. Fang didn’t retreat.
“Drop him!”
The two boys froze.
Max POV
Fang had Dylan by the throat. He instantly let him go and spun on his heels.
“Max...” his eyes lit like a Christmas tree.
“Dylan, leave now while he is showing you mercy.” I demanded.
“But…”
“Go.” I scorched him with my eyes. I used the sternest tone I could. The awkward boy scrambled out of the tree house like a chicken with its head cut off.
“There she is.” Fang smiled his wicked grin. I couldn’t help but to return it and return myself to the embrace of his arms.
We crashed our lips together, his arms around my waist, mine around his neck. We remained kissing for a long time only stopping for a breath every odd moment or so. It felt so great to be back, to be in his arms, to kiss him.
I remember to the exact day where all I wanted to do was kiss him until the world stopped spinning and at the time that scenario didn’t seem unlikely, us living as bird kids.
I remember feeling his muscles for the first time as they began to truly form on his body. The first time I felt them after that in a non-sparring or hugging just to piss him off way, but in a way that was foreign to both of us.
Being with him, touching him was unlike anything I had ever felt, it was surreal. The dark stallion had become mine and he was all mine. The first time we ever kissed I remember how special the moment was. It was a truly sacred moment that I wished would last forever. Whenever I kissed him I wished it would never come to an end. It is the same currently and it always has been.
I never felt Dylan was my other half because I was already convinced mine was Fang.
“I was so worried.” He whispered between our now violent kisses.
We had somehow worked our way to the bed I had been resting on for however long while in my coma.
“Shhhh.” I couldn’t let words ruin the moment.
I ripped off his jacket in a quick attempt. I was careful not to rip it but not too careful. I could feel him smile into the kiss. He clutched at the hem of my camouflage tank top and ripped it off of my head viciously. We stayed like that for a while of kissing and exploration. I had ripped his other shirt off at some point between our tossing around or when we actually hit the ground.
I had summed up that rolling off of a bed and crashing against the hard wooden floor while tangled with someone else’s body is not the most comfortable feeling in the world. We both had survived worst though so we just got right back up from the floor.
That was until…
