Chapter 9: Incidents

Hello guys! From now onwards, I'll be editing the past chapters. You don't have to read them again of course, they're still the same as before. But perhaps to wait till I post some new chapters...

Lawrence had always imagined how he would die. Even though he was still young, his mind just would not stop thinking about it. There was one where he fell from a cliff, another being drown in the sea, and even being trapped in the outer space. But never once did it ever crossed his head that he would be chased by a half-man-half-Charizard because of somebody he knew angered the creature!

"Why did you put that stew in your water gun?" For whatever reason, Jimmy decided to fill his toy with the spiciest food in the world. And now, a strange human-pokemon hybrid was trying to kill them using his fiery breath... from the sky!

"I just couldn't waste it! Mom don't like it when I don't finish her cookings!" Jimmy replied, dodging a rock as he did so. Anyone who tasted her food would faint out of too much burning sensation on their tongue. He had seen it before and found out that it could be used to wake people from commas.

Since the area was covered by a small forest, there were many trees big enough to hide them. The boys let out a tired breath. They wished that they had not tried to run away Jimmy regretted pulling the trigger. He wanted to say something when a fire blast flew straight pass them.

"Get out, you kids!" shouted the man, the fire attack causing a hole in the leaves which show him the position of the two kids. His eyes were red. Not because of rage but pain. He was certainly mad though because he was the only one that felt the pain, both his companions having their own ways of not getting affected.

A ball of flame formed on his clawed hands, readying to be shot while the kids below watched in fear. They braced for the ball to hit them but never felt it. Opening their eyes out of curiosity, they saw a high wall of water in front of them. It dissipated the fire. Up above them, the man was being tied by a vine. Since his wings could not move, the force of gravity pulled him down.

"Let me go!" he struggled to get out.

"Stop it, Izar! They are just kids," the man in black approached along with the venusaur-like one. The children noticed a long rope of plant protruding out of the latter's back. "Our task is to only find and bring back the core to his highness, no harming any citizen." He cut the vine using his hidden knife. Izar just huffed, clearly unsatisfied.

Zuru turned to the terrified children and showed a genuine smile. "It's okay. We won't do anything to you." His words seemed to calm them down a little.

Jimmy and Lawrence looked at each other. They were really confused and amazed by what they had seen - also scared.

"One question. What are you?" Lawrence asked nervously.

Meanwhile, on another part...

"You shouldn't have come, Freather agent," the woman looked over the unconscious body of the man, a bloodied clothe tied around his arm. He was lucky that she was considering enough to bandage him.

"Darksmoke, return!" a houndoom disappeared into a poketube, a small blue tube on her wrist. Only high-ranking members wore it. She was one of them. The man was a strong opponent, but facing the captain of the Fire Squad was a bad decision, for him at the very least. It was not everyday she could have some good exercise. Her work had made it hard for her to stretch her rusting body. She remembered he had called someone when he hid from her. She needed to be more aware of her surrounding.
