Chapter 4: As Time Passed By

On a grassy field, in a forest, lied a boy no older than seven. He was wearing a plain white T-shirt with a small sun in the middle. He also wears a pair of blue jeans.

He was watching the clouds that were floating in the sky.

The boy's eyes, just like the sky, was colored in blue. A smile crept upon his face at the feels of the wind ruffling his spiky blond hair.

If you hadn't guessed yet, he was Uzumaki Naruto, or in this world, he was known as Light.

"I still can't believe a year had passed." He stated as he held up his right arm, showing his orange colored rubber wristband with a symbol of pokeball on it.

He received it from Nurse Joy for his birthday. It might seems like nothing but to him, it was his most precious treasure and he wouldn't go anywhere without it.

It was also the first present he ever got, it makes sense that he cherishes it so much.

He also remembered his second present. He was really surprised when Nurse Joy told him what it was.

(Flashback)

"Thanks Nurse Joy! I promise that I will never take it off!" The blonde boy exclaimed, putting on the rubber wristband. The pink haired woman chuckled.

"You will have to take it off eventually." She said, smiling.

"No I won't!" He retorted. Nurse Joy just kept her smile.

"Now, are you ready for the second one?" She asked him.

"There's another?" The blond haired boy asked excitedly.

"Do you want to see it?"

"Of course!" The boy nodded eagerly.

"Then close your eyes!" Nurse Joy ordered. He did as she said.

She picked up a paper from the table beside her and told him to open his eyes. "Tadaa!"

He just looked at the paper in front of him, confused. "What is this?" He asked, gesturing at the paper.

Nurse Joy just chuckled and asked him to read what was on the paper. "Certificate of Adoption."

He saw Nurse Joy's name written on the paper. As he read the name below, his eyes went wide.

On the paper, written, a name the boy immediately recognize... Light. His fake name.

"Me?" She nodded, her smile threatening to break her face.

Naruto just stood there, frozen, a small tear formed in his eye. Then, suddenly he jumped and hugged her.

Nurse Joy was, of course, surprised but hugged him back.

"Thank you..." The boy whispered, his voice cracking, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"You're welcome..." She whispered back, also had tears on her face.

(End flashback)

Naruto just smiled. His thought however was interrupted when someone shout his name.

"Light!" Well, his fake name anyway. It came from a boy around Naruto's age. He has black hair and dark brown eyes and wore a green T-shirt with brown shorts.

He is 'Light's best friend, Jimmy. They met at the park when the blonde bumped into him.

At first, they seemed to dislike each others. But it seems that they have many things in common.

The two then became close friends and almost could never be separated.

"What are you still doing there? Lily told us to meet her at 3! There's half an hour left!" Jimmy shouted at him from afar.

Lily was another friend of the blond haired boy. She and Naruto met at the Pokemon Center after her pet pokemon Bouncy, an igglybuff, was injured while playing.

Naruto just stood up while giving a sigh and walked toward his friend.

"Come on, we're gonna be late!" Jimmy said and grabbed his friend's hand and ran in the direction of Lily's house.

As they were running, a pair of eyes was watching. It belongs to a hooded man, hiding behind a tree. He picked up something from his pocket and hold it in front of his mouth.

"I have found the boy!" He whispered.

"Keep your eyes on him, Agent Leo!" A voice ordered from the small device.

The man nodded. "Sir!" He then put the device back into his pocket and followed the two boys.
