The pair did not head back the way they came, but took a turn around the district market into a desolate neighbourhood. Surrounded by three-storey buildings, there was only one path to follow. As they reached the end, the path diverged into two roads. Ming Kai recognized the familiar landmarks of M University beyond the foliage, while the longer path on the right eventually led to the main district near the metro.

As they made a corner, Ming Kai noticed a pair of silhouette from the corner of his eyes. He turned around and caught sight of two guys locked in embrace within the shadows. Almost immediately, he felt Terry's hand tap his shoulders, indicating him to get away from the area. An almost imperceptible look of distaste could be seen on his face as he led Ming Kai away toward the university grounds.

Not a word was said between them as they walked to the building where Terry lived. The exterior looked plain, yet it gave a sense of modernity. Guys were allocated the odd-numbered floors, while girls occupied the even-numbered ones. To be honest, that didn't stop the guys from dropping by the girl dormitories, and vice versa. Terry lived on the 5th floor of the East Wing, at the very end of the corridor. It would have offered an excellent view of the campus were it a little higher up, but for now the view had been blocked by a tree whose canopy spanned across the entire window.

The bed was rather small for someone of Ming Kai's size. He imagined that it probably wasn't comfortable for Terry either, considering their similarity in height.

Ming Kai laid down on the floor, removed his laptop from the bag so he could use it as a pillow. Not a moment later, Terry entered the room, wearing only boxers from bottom up. His top half revealed a nice, toned figure with beads of water still streaming down from the side.

However, Ming Kai was too exhausted to pay him any attention. He turned over to his side and closed his eyes, only to feel himself being pulled up from the floor.

"Didn't I already say you could use the bed?" Terry said as he hauled him over.

"It's your bed. I'm okay with the floor, as long as I have somewhere to stay for the night," Ming Kai replied indifferently and returned to his original spot.

"You may be okay with it, but I'm NOT!" he retorted, pushing Ming Kai back down onto the inner side of the bed before lying down on the outer edge, sealing off his avenue of escape.

Ming Kai was now squeezed between the wall and the bastard blocking his way. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place. He thought of making a fuss, but exhaustion eventually won over and Ming Kai simply gave in.

"Don't you think it's strange for two guys to be sleeping so close to each other?" Ming Kai probed, thinking back on what happened at the alley. He knew from Terry's expression that the latter was clearly disgusted by the flagrant display of intimacy between two guys.

"Nope. Why would it be strange? I offered you my bed, but there's no way you'd expect me to sleep alone on the cold, hard floor at this time of the year without a blanket or pillow right?" Terry answered, and snuggled a little closer to get a share of the blanket.

"You say that, yet you are clearly disgusted by those two guys back there."

"Th...that's different! What they were doing was clearly unnatural. Unlike this," Terry suddenly groped Ming Kai's butt and squeezed hard.

Taken by surprise, Ming Kai flipped over and lightly punched at his abdomen, causing Terry to instinctively grab onto his hand. The two stared at each other in that position for a few seconds before Ming Kai broke into a mischievous grin. "You really like holding my hand, don't you?" he joked.

Terry didn't disagree, and instead smiled back at him mischievously. "Kind of," he smirked. "Do you like me holding your hand?"

Ming Kai could tell Terry was just playing along.

"Yes, yes, I like it. But as much as I do, I won't be able to sleep like that. So good night," Ming Kai pulled back his arm and turned to face the wall, more so that Terry wouldn't see the conflicted expression he was wearing.

If only he knew...

Should Terry ever find out about his preference for guys, what would become of their friendship?

Terry silently stared at Ming Kai's back. He had never shared a bed with anyone other than his ex. Even then, it was troublesome to accommodate her. She was as hard to please in bed as she was in real life, her constant demand for attention eventually pushed Terry past the breaking point.

On the other hand, this guy sleeping next to him gave Terry a sense of ease. He didn't need to put on a false front nor attempt to accommodate Ming Kai in any way. They both understood what each other was thinking, not to mention they had similar sense of humour. It had been a long time since he clicked this well with somebody. Good friends like this were hard to come by.

And...his butt felt really nice to squeeze. (Lol)
